It was the Catholic church(pope n Constantine who change it years ago, so that the sun worshippers(pagan) could convert easier to Christianity! I shared Exodus 12:38 it states a "mixed multitude" went up with Yisra'el also so obviously they were still considered Goyim at that time. There would have been no reason to differentiate between the two groups by saying mixed multitude and Yisra'el if they were all considerd Yisra'el at that time. Mosheh was given Torah in the wilderness they came out before that.

@mharrison9 - you are mis-interpreting Colossians. If God's commands were given for our good... how could Paul say they were "against us"? That would be blasphemy. He was talking about sin and death... you have to compare all of his writings... especially Romans 5 - 7... "should we continue in sin that grace may abound? - God forbid".

Shabbat is for a sign for Israel! I am really tired of replacement Theology. We can celebrate the Shabbat as grateful grafted-in Christians but, Shabbat was exclusive to Israel. The Shabbat is part of the Sinai Covenant, we are part of the Abrahamic Covenant if we are saved by Faith and Grace alone. Israel is Israel and the Church is the Church, one does not replace the other. We are in-laws like Ruth and Naomi, Israel is God's wife and the Church is His Son's Bride--in laws.

And I'm sorry friend but that's not correct. The followers of God DID keep the 7th day sabbath even then. It's been established since the beginning of time and the only reason we even have a 7 day week, because of the 6 day creation and then God resting and blessing the 7th day. Two of the unclean, male and female and SEVEN of the clean animals because Noah and family were eating them! @HadasahMiryam actually I wrote it like that because I was debating with another person on how he was saying the sabbath wasn't relevant anymore and it went along with my explanation that how can they say the 4th commandment isn't still valid when there is no way you can deny all the others still stand.

The following verses pinpoint the validity of Sabbath after his resurrection: Mat 24:20 (NIV) & Heb 4:9 (NIV).
@reginaDexant - in Ephesians 2:15 - the thing that was abolished was the ENMITY between Jews and Gentiles that kept them seperated. He was saying that now the believing Gentiles were grafted in and no longer seperated. Before they were "strangers to the covenant" and "without hope in the world". It was NOT the commandments themselves that were abolished... because then everyone would be in the kingdom. He was talking about believing Gentiles joining the spiritual house of Israel.
You can go ahead and willingly blind yourself like a Pharisee if you want to friend, and ignore the fact that you KNOW all 9 other commandments are still VALID today and God absolutely would not do away with them.. and that the one you like to toss out is the one that starts with REMEMBER - because God KNEW people would be worshipping on Sunday and forgetting.

In these commandments are all the law and the prophets.We are set free from law by grace and we who are in grace are not judged by days. Period. Grace and faith not law.
@reginaDexant - the rest that is being spoken about in Hebrews 4 was in comparison to when the rebellious were denied access to his rest in the wilderness... you have to go verse by verse. It was not that they were barred from keeping Shabbat.
@reginaDexant - the Sabbath was instituted at Creation.... thousands of years before Sinai. Israel was called to display it (and all His ways) as a light to the nations.

Now how did God create the sabbath for the Jews only when there were no Jews around for a couple thousand years after?

@luridhue Listen, you ignorant wretch, God is indeed the LORD of the Sabbath, but he did not command that it be remembered until Mt. Sinai to be kept holy by the Hebrews. Up until that time holy men of God did not keep the Sabbath, Seth, Enoch, Noah, Abraham. Isaac, and Jacob, never kept the Sabbath. We as Christians have only one Sabbath-that rest we enter into when we rest from our own works , by grace through faith, because Jesus paid it all. Hebrews 4:1-6

And I'm sorry friend but that's not correct. The followers of God DID keep the 7th day sabbath even then. It's been established since the beginning of time and the only reason we even have a 7 day week, because of the 6 day creation and then God resting and blessing the 7th day. God spoke with His followers.. you don't think He gave them instruction on how to live? He absolutely did.

@reginaDexant Just like the fact that Noah made a designation between the clean and unclean animals that were brought into the ark! Two of the unclean, male and female and SEVEN of the clean animals because Noah and family were eating them! Proof that God was instructing them, the Levitical laws that were given to the Jews much later. ALL of the commandments are valid today and will be kept in heaven as well.

@HadasahMiryam actually I wrote it like that because I was debating with another person on how he was saying the sabbath wasn't relevant anymore and it went along with my explanation that how can they say the 4th commandment isn't still valid when there is no way you can deny all the others still stand.
And praise God YES! The 4th commandment is absolutely still, and always will be, VALID. :)

Dear ignorant wretch, comment on Noah. Noah did not eat meat on the ark. God did not give man meat to eat and animals did not fear man until Noah left the ark. God did not distinguish bt. clean and unclean animals to eat until Sinai- Gen.9:1-3. Man was given of EVERY living thing to eat. Read the bible don't read into it. The clean animals were for sacrifice (1st thing Noah did when he got off the ark) so men of faith could look forward to the cross as we look back. JESUS only fulfilled the law

@reginaDexant Noah didn't have to eat meat on the ark, they would be eating meat afterwards and there was a designated difference. Jesus fulfilled the law because He was perfect and follows it absolutely - He did not abolish it.

in responce to God did not abolish it-Certainly he did- Eph.2:15 Having ABOLISHED in his flesh the enmity, EVEN the law of commandments contained in ordinances ...Col.2:14 he nailed all ordinances against us to the cross -blotting them out. Now to explain the law of love -the first 3 commandments have to do with loving God-The last 6 have to do with loving our neighbor- The 4th commandment has to do with neither- it was a SIGN of the grace to come-All Israel will be saved-WE rest from our works.

So, "14 For he himself is our peace...15...by abolishing in his flesh the law...16 ...in this one body to reconcile (NIV) means, apostle talks about the abolishment of OT Law of Sacrifices, because the OT symbols of Jesus atonement were fulfilled on the Cross once and forever for our reconciliation with God. The following verses pinpoint the validity of Sabbath after his resurrection: Mat 24:20 (NIV) & Heb 4:9 (NIV).

@reginaDexant - in Ephesians 2:15 - the thing that was abolished was the ENMITY between Jews and Gentiles that kept them seperated. He was saying that now the believing Gentiles were grafted in and no longer seperated. Before they were "strangers to the covenant" and "without hope in the world". It was NOT the commandments themselves that were abolished... because then everyone would be in the kingdom. He was talking about believing Gentiles joining the spiritual house of Israel.

You can go ahead and willingly blind yourself like a Pharisee if you want to friend, and ignore the fact that you KNOW all 9 other commandments are still VALID today and God absolutely would not do away with them.. and that the one you like to toss out is the one that starts with REMEMBER - because God KNEW people would be worshipping on Sunday and forgetting.

So you're going to tell me the ONE commandment that starts with Remember is that one that we're supposed to forget or change? We have no right to change ANY of God's laws, these 10 were written in stone for a reason.

The commandments were written on stone tablets because our hearts are stone until THE MOST HIGH changes our hearts from stone to flesh and writes with His own finger the great commandments that we are to keep-Thou shalt love the LORD Thy God with all thy heart soul mind and strength and thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. In these commandments are all the law and the prophets.We are set free from law by grace and we who are in grace are not judged by days. Period. Grace and faith not law.

@reginaDexant - the rest that is being spoken about in Hebrews 4 was in comparison to when the rebellious were denied access to his rest in the wilderness... you have to go verse by verse. It was not that they were barred from keeping Shabbat.
