She learned the moves to the video and whenever I played this song,,,sister Sledge or Will Smith ....she did her moves...8 or 9 years old....I still feel moved when looking at Will smiths video.

  • There are two things in life that are impossible, the first is that you cannot live forever, and the second is that you cannot listen to this song without shaking your stuff.

  • phunky one :)

  • roll bounce

  • The champion of dance His moves would put you in a trance And he never leaves the disco alone Arrongance but not conceit As a man he's complete My crme de la crme Please take me (don't go) home He wears the finest clothes The best designers, heaven knows Ooh, from his head down to his toes Halston, Gucci, Fiorucci He looks like a still That man is dressed to kill Oh-what-wow He's the greatest dancer
  • Used to pour over the columns in mags like People and read about 54, imagining all these songs being played. I was totally born in the wrong decade.

  • @that70sJo

Oh bro, it sure was a lot of fun. Discos packet to the rafters with beautiful, well dressed ladies. All wanting to get out and dance. Man , I tell you. Best of times.

  • This song reminds me of the champagne life and the gucci suits and women in spandex and sequined butterfly tops, high heels and gators. We looked good on the floor and we partied hardy!

  • @swahillia

Amen brother. The best of times.

  • BUENA DE LAS HERMANAS SLEDGE....

  • The gay disco...my bedroom!

  • reason this song wasn't bigger.it was release on a 12" which had we are family on it and radion stations started to play it more, it kinda pushed this song out of the way.also this was a chic song and sister sledge was suppose to get i want your love which was a big hit for chic the same year.

  • Oh, and great album artwork too.

    Very....

    Chic. ;>)

  • Two of the BADDEST musical tandems EVER! -Rodgers/Edwards.-

  • This song defined (or defines) disco. It should have been a bigger hit than #9 Pop (#1 R&B / Disco) in 1979

  • "One night at a disco on the out skirts of Frisco"...well that must be San Bruno, Millbrae, Daly City, San Mateo, South City or even San Carlos...hey!!! GREATEST Guitar riff on the planet!!! Sorry Will...you should not have missed with this classic!!!

  • @jefferyb1122 San HO! Dont forget San Joseyyyyyy ! ; - ))

  • LOVE IT PEACE LOVELY

  • music will never be the same again

  • That 1 dislike - he's the lamest dancer.

  • The the sistas sure were slim back in the day!

  • The perfect Disco song, the best in spring of 79...

  • Day um, real music. Strings and things. I love that sweet ramblin guitar. Sister Sledge, charm poise and beauty. No clip on hair. Tell the story girls.

Chic influence. HOT. Road trip music.

  • Take me back to the early spring of 1979...wow...

  • That's groove ! :D

  • man, this was the best time of my life. 16, ready to have fun, not a care in the world! sighhhhhhhhhhh!!

  • FINALLY!!! an upload of this song that doesn't cut off in the great "dance" part at the end! THANK YOU!!!!

  • I love old stuff like this!

  • Classic melody from the golden era of popular music...

  • I can digggggg ittttt!!!

  • Excellent quality, great pic!

  • anybody out there agrees with me?, I think this sound is a lot like Chic no doubt one of those guys had his hand in the production and developing of these sounds in this song and group (sister sledge). one of my favorites back in 77' and I wasnt even en the US then I was living it up back in Peru, South America.

  • @jlove7723 It sounds like Chic because it IS Chic!!! Bernard Edwards and Nile Rogers (of Chic) produced this album, so the trademark Chic sound is in much of this album.

  • SO TRUE....bernard edwards & nile rogers PERFECTED that sound...it's classical...the first... never to be repeated quite the same.

  • anybody out there agrees with me?, I think this sound is a lot like Chic no doubt one of those guys had his hand in the production and developing of these sounds in this song and group. one of my favorites back in 77'

  • Not the greatest song, not the greatest band, not the greatest dancers either but a truly gripping opening rift, that carries on throughout. Pity they never made an instrumental!

  • Gettin' jiggy with it.

  • @JEEminn3000 yeah, 20 years before then. :) It dose sound farmilure.

  • @JEEminn3000 this song is jiggier

  • Comment removed

  • @JEEminn3000 Gettin' stealin' with it

  • @JEEminn3000 funny I was just listening to jiggy on mp3 and realized where it was from and decided to listen to this on youtube

  • @JEEminn3000 this is so much better than gettin' jiggy with it,

  • Hypnotic, magnetic. Undoubtedly, The best rhythm section in modern music. Long live Chic!

  • This takes be back 1977-79 when with my big afro and crush velvet suits going to the discos in L.A. like Disco 9,000, Dillons, and Osko's We use to get dressed up to go to clubs back in those days. My pops would let me drive his clean 1976 Black on black Cadillac Coupe DeVille and would do the velet parking so the ladies would see me when I get out of it!

  • @mrintimateluva - PROPS! LOL, I couldn't imagine being of age during this time period. I was just born in 77

  • @mrintimateluva what about the Carolina West? you know with two dance floors and the phones at all the tables!

  • @mrintimateluva u got me to old times

  • @mrintimateluva I must say those were the good old days looking back from today to then makes me miss that time even more. Music is the time travel to a time back in the day.

  • Another 70's classic from Sister Sledge. Magnificent track.

  • nile and bernard were too badd muthas!
