@aussiechickdiana I wholeheartedly agree with you. She has beautiful, strong legs. But which Diana are you talking about? Her or yourself? Are you the one dancing?
Ballerinas always amaze me. To be so fluidly flexible and being able to distribute all of your weight onto the tips of your toes is an incredible feat that takes countless hours of training.
in grade 5,we did the nutcracker for our christmas concert;dance of the sugar plum fairy, arabian dance, and "waltz of the flowers":flowers of every hue,red ye-llow pink white and light blue, beauty so bright,in the sun-light,aaaaah,the flowers surround you,
sweet purfume fills the air, sweet as the breath of the fair spring, pretty flo-wers sway,in a DAINty way,all the petals seem,to say, lets dance today!...
im already sick of this song! i love the nutcracker, but after doing this dance for four hours every saturday for eight weeks, you really get sick of it. thats what we did last year, now we're doing it again this year. joy...
Dance of the sugar plum fairies is even worse... every time i see a christmas commercial with that song i want to barf! :) but I still love preforming in the nutcracker.
This year a chinese porcelain doll in the tea dance. :)
It, it always is better in person, because you can fell the energy, and you hardly notice mistakes and all. I did notice that Dew drop wasn't to energetic, tho. Idk, I'd like to go to a summer intensive there, tho!!!!!1
Excellent performance. Well choreographed and nearly perfect synch. This is one of my favorite pieces of ballet and as a straight guy that takes guts to admit.
But I wonder what would happen if the lead dancer slipped and fell into the orchestra pit?
Omg, I wish I could be in the Nutcracker. But, I'm no good at normal ballet, and I look like a dying fish even with my 6 years of classes lol. I think I'll just stick to modern for nows. :D
I'm new to ballet, though I do know the nutcracker ballet suite. Why was there no aplause when that piece ended? Is it because they were performing for the 3 people sitting behind (in the story) and the people in the audience know this?
I know, I started pointe in the summer and at first it was really hard for me, especially holding my turnout. But it gets easier as you go along and it's pretty fun
omg...this is beautiful!!!i take pointe and its not easy...so that kid needs to try it and maby he'll think twice about what (she,he) said....its more than just walking on our toes...geez
OMG! i love the nutcracker and have been in ballet since i was like 2 so thats like 13 years and i have been in the nutcracker twice and am hoping for a third!
OH MY GOD! Im a ballerina! and guess what were not just walking on our toes! You put on pointe shoes and try it! The first time i wore my pointe shows my feet started to bleed! oh and its our job to make it look easy. if you tried it you be sweating like crazy. so why dont you just shut up
it's harder than it seems trust me. i used to get blisters all the time whe i first started and my nails would rip-give them a little more credit at least
I agree that xitsmex123 shouldn't have id that, cause it really does seem tough to pointe. but i will give him right that it's no point to go berserk over it...why doesn't anyone comment the flawless orchestral performance? the pointe is just one tiny aspect of this entire ballet, that's the beatuy of it all. without the music it would be near worthless (imagine those people dancing without music, it would look quite awkward lol), and no dancing would be a huge loss.
I have a small studio, MHDC, so I have four parts this year! I'm too young to do waltz of the flowers or snow or anything like that, but my sister is snow queen AND Sugarplum fairy. I wish I could be that good one day. My studio goes in parts like this so they get a chance to breathe. I'M SO EXCITED! (Sorry, I'm pretty young so I can be weird)
gosh... i loved this dance. although my class did it in our ballet shoes not pointe cuz we were too young to do pointe yet. but we never got a break and we had half of a hoop with flowers and our arms had to be up all the time. so tiring yet so much FUN!!
im in this dance this year!!! its so much fun! but its really hard cuz its so long. and unlike this version, everyone is on stage the whole time so we dont get a break! its very tireing! i like thats it is on pointe though1
we get to the nutcracker for chrisatmas. i get to be clara because i am the smallest and yougest girl who can do all of the hard things on pointe. id hate to be the sugar plum fairy so hard and so much to do!
Lovely. What happens to them when they get old? Do they teach younger students or write books on dance. Dance is kinesthetic intellignece, it's so alien to me.
Given that these dancers you watched have mostly genius IQ's, they should be able to find any job they want after they enjoy their youth dancing. Don't be fooled by how lovely they dance. At least they could be dancers if they wanted to and have that option, unlike a lot of other brainiacs.
