  • Nice catch pare!!!

  • oo nga loko ka maipit yong kamay mo dian..

  • These orientals are keeping the crabs as pets and eating a dog tonight

  • congratulations! you sir get the idiot bigot award! its a big cup that you can store your hatred in!......tool.

  • Bigot? No. Hatred? No. Get a grip and get over yourself. Maybe you need to stop with the name-calling because you dont like others opinions.

  • Those look tasty.

I went to the pier during the day &

    not a lot of action

  • wow....nice catch, i see people caught red color crabs so far in berkeley pier during day, but these are green. usually the catch in the day is very small, smaller than palm, these are big by the way, don't eat crabs too much in the bay, too much pollution, mercury, heavy metals, etc.

  • Hey nice catch man! I was wondering how far into the berkeley pier do you throw your nets. I've gone to that pier a couple times but no luck so I have to cross the bridge over to Fort Mason in SF. Do you think that they're still in season right now?

  • You can catch these red rock crabs ANYWHERE in the Berkeley pier. Just throw your net and you wait. Me and my brothers went as far as half way of the pier and caught 30 atleast. And then once we moved almost at the entrance of the pier we caught the other 28. So in total we had 58 crabs! We can barely carry our cooler because it's sooo heavy! I think their is no season for these critters but the right time to catch them is during night time. What kind of bait do you use?

  • so when is the right month to go crabbing or fishing? And do they have any smelt fish in that area??

  • we went there around December. So pretty much around the Winter/Fall season. But as far as I know I haven't seen anyone caught smelt fish there. Just sharks and halibut and a couple of rays and sturgeons.

  • yes actually. but you have to space out ur consumption though. you can't eat everything you catch at the Bay EVERYDAY. they are kind of toxic as u may know.

  • is it safe to eat shellfish so close to industrial areas like a marina?
