And half the reason why you think so is because they recorded their first two albums as single track recordings...they record a song, if they don't like it, they do it again...no overlaid tracks. I've seen them live enough to know that they are seriously on point with their performances...no bs. Sorry but their new stuff is bad. What made kings of leon good was their young rock n' roll sound. They never had that good of lyrics, it's pretty generic. But there are good bands that can rock n' roll AND have generic lyrics, which is kind of the point (Slade, KISS, ACDC). But Kings of Leon lost their rock n' roll. They replaced it with boring mediocre rock, and still have boring generic lyrics. SO yes, there new stuff is bad.

Can we please get over the fact that they are evolving in their music? They can't stay with the same sound forever, but there are many elements they have stuck to: awesome lyrics, unique melodies, kickin' bass lines, etc. One of the biggest differences I see that I love? Caleb is using his vocal talent to the extreme, and he said so himself. That's probably one of the reasons why it sounds so different, but they getting better and better. Get over it!

I was there at the back of the ground and the reason we weren't going mental is because we were all there for U2 who were playing after KOL had done a few songs, in the crowd of 200 there were only about 10people there for KOL, so really they were playing to an audience who were new to them. Still - good memories though

Yes, I've heard of all of them. And INCIDENTALLY, the artists you mentioned are not exactly rock bands, they performed with other members but one does need accompanying instruments. We were referring to rock bands or so I thought. I think American musicians did a lot of grunt work and fumbled around with blues and what not but if you do your reading it sounds like the UK surpassed us pretty quickly. I hate how people call their new stuff bad. Just because its not to your likening doesn't make it a bad song. Theres alot of bands where i prefer there old stuff over there new, but i can't call it bad music.

Sorry but their new stuff is bad. What made kings of leon good was their young rock n' roll sound. They never had that good of lyrics, it's pretty generic. But there are good bands that can rock n' roll AND have generic lyrics, which is kind of the point (Slade, KISS, ACDC). But Kings of Leon lost their rock n' roll. They replaced it with boring mediocre rock, and still have boring generic lyrics. SO yes, there new stuff is bad.

Can we please get over the fact that they are evolving in their music? They can't stay with the same sound forever, but there are many elements they have stuck to: awesome lyrics, unique melodies, kickin' bass lines, etc. One of the biggest differences I see that I love? Caleb is using his vocal talent to the extreme, and he said so himself. That's probably one of the reasons why it sounds so different, but they getting better and better. Get over it!

kick ass I'd agree - the shame is that no one was actually there for this performance for KOL because we were there for U2, I was there at the back of the audience and now love 'em both. Wish I'd got KOL tickets for London now - boy they're kicking

I was there at the back of the ground and the reason we weren't going mental is because we were all there for U2 who were playing after KOL had done a few songs, in the crowd of 200 there were only about 10people there for KOL, so really they were playing to an audience who were new to them. Still - good memories though

I prefer their earlier stuff personaly,i'm from Scotland and im glad America still has some good modern rock bands...bands like the killers annoy me because theyre heavily influenced by british music...rock n roll was born in america and i'm glad there's some honest stuff still coming out of there...even if it is pop rock now

Rock n roll was born in england dude and i say that as an american.. the beatles, the rolling stones, queen, the clash the list goes on and on. It was close but I don't think our music scene would even be recognizable without those early influences.

Ermm have you ever heard of Chuck Berry,Buddy Holly and a little known performer by the name of ELVIS? The Beatles and The Stones have both proudly said that they were heavily influenced by the rock n roll scene that was happening in America in the mid to late 50's..incidentally, John Lennon was a massive Elvis fan...you dont know much about music eh?

Yes, I've heard of all of them. And INCIDENTALLY, the artists you mentioned are not exactly rock bands, they performed with other members but one does need accompanying instruments. We were referring to rock bands or so I thought. I think American musicians did a lot of grunt work and fumbled around with blues and what not but if you do your reading it sounds like the UK surpassed us pretty quickly. Yes, I do know my music and who didn't like Elvis? Not surprised.
