I guess this scene is not fact-based.

As you see, this one is around sunset. and it is really hard to search ships during night from air, while ships do have radar.

In some rare cases, there are night-time dive bomber unit among IJN, though.

I can't believe a British boy would really have felt like this, my grandad fought the Japs in Burma and hated them with a passion, my other grandad was in France, Holland, Germany etc against the Germans and was much more ambivalent about them.

This has to be my favt scene from any movie. The music. The shots. The way the sun is used. The faces of the characters. I love every part about this scene. I could watch this over and over. It really gets to your emotions.

This scene is heartwarming, moving, and highly emotional. It salutes and pays tribute to the noble kamikaze warriors who slammed their planes into the insolent infidels fighting the righteous cause of imperial aggression. Indeed this scene is reminiscent of typical Nazi ceremonies that glorified their heroic determinism and courage. The Nazi anthem had a beautiful melody.

See through the fluff people. A misguided passion for an evil cause is not honor: it is shameful delusion.

It shows the Japan side and the American side of war.

This movie taught me not to make a war, two beautiful countries should not fight. But to respect each other.

i agree. the premise of this vid is touching, but if they just treated not only the POWs but civilians a little better during WW2, then I maybe I could feel sorry for them. But they didnt. They decided to wage war their way and paid a heavy price for it in the end. Even today the Japanese government hides the truth from their people with limited info in their history books
