yea.. i got the 83 gmc jimmy 6.2L.If you wanna buy a turbo for that beast. Go with the banks sidewidnder. +60 hp. +115 ft lbs of tourqe. and +10%-19% better fuel economy. the cost of the turbo kit is $2466. The 6.2L sidewinder turbo outperforms the turbo 6.5L the gm produced.

yeah, i know... i've done a lot of research on the kit, and im gonna rebuild a brand new engine for it, and turbo it, then it'll be a kick ass truck

haha, no i didnt swap, many blazers, jimmy's, suburban's and pick-ups came with the 6.2 diesel. it is the stock engine

82 was the first year for the K5s to come with the 6.2L diesel motor. I have one and its stock. Gets 18mpg too.

yeah, i love it, you cant really hear it in this video, but i have a crack in the number 3 piston, its only on the side of the piston, so it doesnt affect compression though, but there is a significant knock, which i will fix by replacing it with one that came with the truck

yes, sam the man, it is a 6.2 litre diesel. gm's 6.2 litre and 6.5 litre turbo diesel were both made by detroit diesel, like one of the other comments said below by Mattster2k6, 1982 was the first year that the k5's came with the diesel
