Obviously in the days before an ident was used at close. I have a close on tape where the chosen ident was Optics (my favourite of this era) but, as usual, in the final five seconds of the full showing, it faded to black with the audio still playing, thus making me unable to SEE the ident in full. (sighs)
As far as I know, ident closedowns began later on in 1994 when Reg Sanders started adding them when he was on the late shift. Other cons soon followed suit.
Yes, it is 19th June 1993. Still can't believe they had ballet on for an hour and a half! (not my taste, but I have absolutely no *ideological problem* with it in the way that people like Steven Wells do) And, no, you shouldn't have edited those credits down :).

@Runrome BBC2 was designed to be a more complementary network to BBC1 so there was no need for a playing of God Save The Queen at closedown.
