I would not perform this version because I don't think it would play strong enough for LAYPEOPLE (it's fine as a novelty for magicians). Put yourself in a layman/laywoman's shoes at the point where the smoke comes out of the mouth. They would think..."where did the smoke come from", and would soon remember that you had a pen in your mouth ten seconds previously. Even worse, they are also likely to remember the conspicuous lack of the performer talking after the pen is removed from the mouth.

@darknessbydesign thats y you have two in ur pocket and if they ask about the it you pull out sharpie. Then for the no talking part its not like you dont talk for a long time its only a few seconds. And you can look really concentrated when you are pretending to roll it up because when you are really concentrated you dont talk.
