The story of the Federation in the book was after the governments and economies of the world collapsed a group of veterans in Scotland took over their city because the government would not do anything to protect the citizens and the idea spread.
Paul Verhoven, the director of the movie, did not even read the original book when he made the first film. Anything involving the Nazis is crap Verhoven added

@degree7 Yeah, I just watched Troopers 3 last night and I felt the same way. It feels like they didn't even try to be subtle with the satire in this one. It only pisses me off because in the first one the political satire was mixed in to the perfect degree, just vaguely hinting at the flaws of facism and stuff like that; but in Marauder they basically told you the exact point they were trying to make. So obnoxious.
Yeah, I don't think Heinlein ever brought up religion in regards to his 'utopian' society in the novel, other than as a passing mention of chaplains as Cap troopers. I think we are to assume freedom of religion is very much active in the book.
But I really directed my criticism towards the movies themselves, and how the campy tone really doesn't fit with how this movie tried to make the two themes mesh. It could have been done much better

Starship Troopers is based on a novel written in 1959 by sci-fi guru Robert A Heinlein, It was the primary source of inspiration for the conceptualization of the "marines" in James Cameron's "Aliens", Infact James Cameron told Michael Biehn and Bill Paxton to read the novel to help prepare themselves for their roles in the movie.
I think everyone is taking this movie too seriously. It was done tongue-in-cheek and meant to be humorous. (I did like how the film dropped hints that the Federation was going to listen to the peace activists and make nice with the bugs and then did the opposite.)

I was surprised about that turn of events, I imagine that her character turned patriotic after Sky Marshall turned traitor in the process of securing peace under the manipulating influence of the Brain Bug featured in the film. But Religion has always being partial to taking sides in war times to gain favor with side or the other, sadly. The current Christian West vs Islamic Middle East conflict is no different.
That will only be possible for a society that does not have an economics system in the first place, because economics requires the concept of private property.

Starship Troopers is based on a novel written in 1959 by sci-fi guru Robert A Heinlein, It was the primary source of inspiration for the conceptualization of the "marines" in James Cameron's "Aliens", Infact James Cameron told Michael Biehn and Bill Paxton to read the novel to help prepare themselves for their roles in the movie.

I think everyone is taking this movie too seriously. It was done tongue-in-cheek and meant to be humorous. (I did like how the film dropped hints that the Federation was going to listen to the peace activists and make nice with the bugs and then did the opposite.)

Fucking wow... just fucking wow. I like how Starship Troopers portrays the future as still having a majority of white people (or white people at all) and people who believe in God or a god. Given the rapid retardation/liberalization of the west by allowing thousands of non-whites and the laziness and apathy being taught in our schools as people run around getting high or drinking and aborting fetuses and saving fucking trees.
Yeah I can only pray and hope the future isn;t this fucking insane.

Argentina is a country that has aprox 85 to 90 % caucasian (white) population while countries like the United States shows around 70 to 80 % of white population. Would you like to know more? I was surprised about that turn of events, I imagine that her character turned patriotic after Sky Marshall turned traitor in the process of securing peace under the manipulating influence of the Brain Bug featured in the film. But Religion has always being partial to taking sides in war times to gain favor with side or the other, sadly. The current Christian West vs Islamic Middle East conflict is no different.

The only societies that don't have economics are primitive hunter-gatherer ones where humans live in nature and don't associated goods with people thus making their societies indistinguishable from the kinds of populations animals live in in the wild. (not very advanced)

Its my opinion that movie directing died long ago. Any good film is just a ghost of what once was.
Thanks you director for making annoy movie and fucking up something that might have been half way decent. I give this a 10 out of 10 on the ambiguous, misrepresentation, non contiguous plot, annoying, extra actors playing major roles scale.
