On fanfiction there's shadow link and dark link whats the differance between them? Where did Link's reflection go after he passed the tree? There was a reflection of him on the waters surface but when he passes the tree it vanishes. Creepy.

This is how I fight dark link and I hate how he would jump on my sword. I never used the dins fire hammer or the hookshot glitch so it was epic. Idk I had. Dins fire till I beat the game which I thought was kinda stupid. I never really paid attention to the stuff I get though.
How are you supposed to beat this guy with only the master sword without getting hurt? That's usually how I had to beat him but I had to get hurt in order to hurt him. You know if you die with a fairy it will bring you back to life with full health right? That's why I wait till I die to gets the full extent of its healing powers.

Has anybody ever noticed that when you enter this room, you can see your reflection in the water, but once you get past the tree, it disappears? That would be Dark Link
I love the fact that when you play this part for the first time, you wonder where the heck you are, check the other exit, and then, from out of NOWHERE, Dark Link materializes at the tree O.o
As a side note, I love the fact that Dark Link doesn't become hostile until you Z-Target him. I can just picture this-

See this is brilliant! Watching people use Din's Fire and the hammer and stuff like that is boring. Nintendo gives you the chance to have a perfectly matched one on one duel with yourself and people go and do that, where's the fun and sense of accomplishment?

this is how men fight dark link. I don't know why people complain it's easy, they cheat. that's like saying zelda II's final boss is easy because of the corner trick. you, my friend, are a man. I have high hopes for ss dark link.
Thing is, although he seems like he's just copying Link, Dark Link is the only actual avid swordfighter in the game. I mean, isn't that what swordfighting is? Blocking your opponent's slashes. Most enemies have their own styles of fighting, yet Dark Link is the only one to properly use a sword in combat by blocking and attacking when Link is open. Dunno, perhaps I'm wrong.
@TKOblue The Stalfos Knights have a Style similar to Link too, but the do not dodge or wait for when you epose you, maybe they we're ment as trainig for Dark Link as Phantomganon was training for Ganondorf, only a few thoughts.
someone says the hammer is best 'cuz it's the only thing he can't copy, I don't know, don't think the hammer works well...it's a little slow, and when u try to get close to him to smack him he attacks! He's just defending himself against the hammer anyway... I think you should have some bottles with red potion or fairys and just go berzerk until u get in a hit.

I always liked this room. I wanted to explore into the mist. When I first saw it fade away after you defeat him, it just became more awesome that it was all an illusion.

He starts with his fading gray colour and atacks only when you do.. if you start dueling sparks with him he gets darker and starts to atack on his own!

I always laugh when he jumps on your sword when you stab and he just slices your head.. for some reason its always funny. But Nintendo sure was brilliant when they made this fight...
When you stop using Z-targeting and you realize the fight is easier that way, I always interpreted that in-universe as Link realizing that the only way to defeat a mirror of himself is by abandoning all form and being random in his attacks, since Dark Link is not used to anything except Link's normal fighting style.

YES! Thats exactly what i said too. He finished him off with the spin attack, that made it much more epic. Never seen him(DL) do a spin attack as well.
you can beat him easily if you do this: hit him with a deku nut, then stab him. He will be on top of the blade, as usual. wait for him to unfreeze, then he cannot attack at all. He can't even counter you.
this had to be my favorite mini boss, bc for one this battle field reminds me of the hyperbolic time chamber from dbz, and this mini boss is really worth the mind boggling puzzle that is the water temple, and hes just a really challenging mini boss
Very nice. =P I've always loved fighting him with just the sword, makes it a wonderful battle, and a long one at that. Although, you wonder why Dark Link had 15 rupees on him.
I dont know any other way to fight him without the sword, even Din's fire doesn't work against him. He just moves out of the way... And everytime I fight him I always end up with 2 and 1/2 heart left, no more no less... Weird?
DUDE! Dark Link's the one Worthy Opponent I would love to fight everytime!!! He's the toughtest enemy OUT OF ALL in OoT!!! Light and Dark side!!! Plus I only use a Master Sword to fight him! It's the ONLY fun way and lasts longer!!! I really wish Though monsters like Dark Link would appear more often!! That would be SO EPIC!!! Plus, fighting him in TP would've been nice, too!
Dark Link, I believe, is to this day one of the hardest bosses the entire series. And rightfully so; Link can absolutely destroy anything else that takes him on.
I wish DL had a revamped design like in TP, so we could duel him again.

I always liked this room. I wanted to explore into the mist. When I first saw it fade away after you defeat him, it just became more awesome that it was all an illusion.

pretty entertaining vid man. i had to watch it again. i remember i would make an extra file and save it on the water temple so i can fight him again and again.i wouldnt save it after i fought him i would just turn it off so i can fight him again another time XD

He starts with his fading gray colour and atacks only when you do.. if you start dueling sparks with him he gets darker and starts to atack on his own!

For me Water temple has been by far a very UNIQUE part in the entire game... I have been a Z targetting Dark Link Duelist for a loooonnng time... pure 'Z-tar' fight with Master Sword Only i would like to see... its like playing chess... game of reflex, along with precise timing countering a counter strike... in my opinion that's why the game reaaally says: - Conquer Yourself! - no point on avoiding the challenge - hardest mid boss in the entire Zelda chronicles period.

I always laugh when he jumps on your sword when you stab and he just slices your head.. for some reason its always funny. But Nintendo sure was brilliant when they made this fight...

When you stop using Z-targeting and you realize the fight is easier that way, I always interpreted that in-universe as Link realizing that the only way to defeat a mirror of himself is by abandoning all form and being random in his attacks, since Dark Link is not used to anything except Link's normal fighting style.

you can beat him easily if you do this: hit him with a deku nut, then stab him. He will be on top of the blade, as usual. wait for him to unfreeze, then he cannot attack at all. He can't even counter you.

this had to be my favorite mini boss, bc for one this battle field reminds me of the hyperbolic time chamber from dbz, and this mini boss is really worth the mind boggling puzzle that is the water temple, and hes just a really challenging mini boss

Very nice. =P I've always loved fighting him with just the sword, makes it a wonderful battle, and a long one at that. Although, you wonder why Dark Link had 15 rupees on him.

I dont know any other way to fight him without the sword, even Din's fire doesn't work against him. He just moves out of the way... And everytime I fight him I always end up with 2 and 1/2 heart left, no more no less... Weird?

DUDE! Dark Link's the one Worthy Opponent I would love to fight everytime!!! He's the toughtest enemy OUT OF ALL in OoT!!! Light and Dark side!!! Plus I only use a Master Sword to fight him! It's the ONLY fun way and lasts longer!!! I really wish Though monsters like Dark Link would appear more often!! That would be SO EPIC!!! Plus, fighting him in TP would've been nice, too!

Dark Link, I believe, is to this day one of the hardest bosses the entire series. And rightfully so; Link can absolutely destroy anything else that takes him on.
I wish DL had a revamped design like in TP, so we could duel him again.

Megaton Hammer is for pussies. Fighting Dark Link with just the master sword alone is how the masters do it. Such an Epic fight. I wish more bosses were like this in Zelda. He annoyed me though. Always countering my attacks. = P
