@Digolgrin I was just joking recharacterizing 47 as a Jersey mob type hitter. I don't think it fits the game image myself. What makes 47 most interesting to me is that he walks that line between human and superhuman legend (think Keyser Söze "Usual Suspects"). This plus cold detachment (which warms in rare times, particularly around certain females he either feels for or wants to understand as we've seen with Ling), no-nonsense style, and lone-wolf-against-all-odds make 47 top $ killer.

@Zmapes89 If he were finishing the whole series off, the ending actually makes sense if you call back to one of the comments earlier on. 47 WAS killed in New Jersey, the "Devil's Asshole", and he winds up in this version of hell where this shapeshifting demon is in control of everything. At the end, he realizes he can't go back to his own time, as he's, y'know, DEAD in New Jersey, kills the demon, and pretty much gets rid of the only thing that kept him motivated--that crucifix.
