  • I've seen a 13b that makes 1077hp @ 40~ psi so I think this 20B can go even further!!

  • WOW! what a great engine! soooo crazy

  • sounds like a piece of shit lawnmower

  • @StonedAssassinNZL So do you. You make Cypress Hill sad with your shit comment.

  • Manoo62, lol at ur attempt to measure rotary displacement.

  • Three rotors with three chambers of 654cc each thats 9 x 654 = 5886cc plus a huge turbo....

  • how many experts , just enjoy in sound you docs of filosofy

  • take that rednecks! who needs 8 cylinders

  • 3 rotors ='s nine cylinders

  • @greg18417 How do you come to that conclusion??

  • @cdsmith1990 i think hes talking about the 9 combustions that wud take place every revolution.... in a way he is right

  • @firat123456789 Its only two pulses per revolution of the shaft. I know this is way late but I wanted to clarify for everyone who sees this...

So if measuring by compression's per rotation its only two 654cc chambers equaling 1308cc/79ci. 9 pulses is 4-5 revolutions... The rotors spin at 1/3 the speed of the eccentric shaft.

  • @TEDDERAMA 3 in ths case lool, but ye ur right my bad

  • @greg18417

    LOL

3 rotors = 3 rotors, there is no possible comparison to any wankel engine.

there is no piston neither cylinder neither rod, so dont comment shit!

  • WOW I dont really think it has 1200hp however its got enough i reckon

  • Incredible

  • I saw this car about 5-6 years ago... Belongs to Dennis from the Bronx,NY. Back then, I was impressed by the looks. I'm not sure about the 1200hp... I never saw this car do an 7 second 1/4 pass

  • auto gearbox?

  • Nice that thing is strapped down well to be making that sort of HP.

  • u r stupid..this is call drag machine, keep the car as light as possible and loads of power at the same time...+they just havnt put the cover on yet...

  • you call this RX-7? whats left on it from rx-7? lol. but nice engine!!!! i would wona own one like that!!!!!!!

  • RPM'SS!!!!!

  • From the looks of it you probably have no idea how loud it is. Trust me when I say that you'll be covering your ears too. It actually starts to feel painful after a while.

  • @spartanic i remember when i was in the pit at a drag race and the alcohol cars came in i tried to not cover my ears but just when the idled i was like OW! but when they took off like right b4 my ears rung like crazy and had no choice to cover my ears

  • Sorry but nobody has the ability to measure horsepower by just listening to the exhaust tone. Yet again we have ourselves an armchair expert.

  • Applause

  • Yup, that sounds like 1172 RWHP.

  • @spartanic haha. your right, power is in units of energy per time and sound is in pressure

  • @spartanic cant argue with that haha

  • i wouldnt mess with that on track or highway i get smoke hella bad

  • No u wouldnt becouse it prob tops about 190-215 mph

  • Eccentric shaft not crankshaft.

  • good god that turbo took forever to spool. but shit, the rest of the rpms were nonexistant after it did.

  • nice sounds kwl

  • well pplz thats a rx7 4 ya the best

  • This is obviously a purpose built race car so streetability and a broad powerband arent a concern. I assure you this is no dyno queen there are 8 and 9 second rotaries at the local track all the time with similar setups. I would also like to inform you sir that I will NEVER NEED a V-8 for anything.

  • What I dont understand about dyno queens like this is they tune/build the cars all to hell and they have 1200 (like the car in the video) for the last 1500 rpms or so.

  • That's because of the MASSIVE turbo(s) this thing has, when the revs are high, it will finally spool up and create an enormous boost to the engine, which makes it a heck of a lot more powerful..

  • i understand that . But it just seems very inefficient. I completely understand how big single cars work. Seems a nicely sized twin setup would work alot better in most cases .

  • RX stands for Rotary experiment, I am not even going to call you names for saying that. I have owned 2 1986 RX7's "ROTARY EXPERIMENT 7" 2nd generations and both had OMG 13B Rotarys! Now stop making stuff up.

  • @DjMjInthemix every rx has a rotary, not just the rx8. r100- rx8 all rotary!

  • if it aint a rotor it aint a motor

  • I don't even own a rotory yet, but hope to get an RX7 this summer. I love your comment, lol!

  • Stupid reply system... my last post was in response to Wastrol's "if it aint a rotor it aint a motor" comment...

  • goo rotaryyy!

  • Screw what people say! That was fucking awsome!

  • very very nice...best 20b ive seen

  • cant u hear the slight pulsing when he gets off the gas

  • wow

  • Of course it's a rotary (20b - 3-rotor), why is it so hard to believe?

  • Is it a twin or triple rotor?

does a twin rotor fire at the same intervals of rotation as a 6 cylinder 4 stroke, every 120 degrees.

I cant work out a triple rotor,? the same as a 9 cylinder 4 stroke? love the noise, sorry music!!

  • a 4-stroke piston engine requires four cycles per combustion.. so a four cylinder fires once per 360' rotation of the crank.. a rotor requires three rotations for a complete cycle, so a three rotor RX7 can perform this combustion every 360' rotation as well. (And due to it's design, the newer engine can put out 230HP in just a 1.3L) heck, I'd LOVE to see a 1.3L piston engine do this STOCK! So one can only imagine a bunch of tuning on a rotary!

  • found out it was most likely a

Holinger 6 sp sequential gearbox.. :P

  • 4 stroke single fires every 720

    twin every 360

    4 every 180.

Each rotor fires with same regularity as a 6 cylinder 4 stroke I think...hold on errm...I'll get back to u on that! every 120 degrees?

    sound good too!

  • wierd that they arent in perfect balance.

  • yeah... i dunno why they don't even them out... but there must be a reason for it =P

  • I imagine its got something to do with using rotors from a twin rotor engine that can maybe only be connected 90 degrees apart or 180?

  • @kashrx7 obviously its a 13b the engine tone is too low for a 20b

  • @bleedblack7 actually 20b's have a deeper throater tone than 13b's. go watch some 20b videos and some 13b videos... you will see

  • @kashrx7 Nice one looks like a blast :)

  • wtf what kind of motor does it have? No way it's a rotary.

  • I'd put some money on it, being a rotary engine, but most likely a chevrolet trans.. :P

But it's very much so a rotary!

  • its an FD ya digbat;

  • Um, yah, I know it's an FD model rx7, built from 1992 to 2002 in Japan, only to be released in the US from 1993 to 1999... FD = Chassis code... BUT for most really nasty *1,00HP plus cars, they'll but a built Chevrolet automatic tranmsission in it, due to them being able to withstand the abuse. That's all I was saying... ^^

  • oops, notice the placement of the comma, I intended placing *1,000 there.. :P

Now if we were talking about hondas, sure 100HP+ would be nasty... well it would be for a honda.. :P heheh, sorry bad joke. My built subaru has trouble keeping ahead of a honda S2000.. ^^ Those lil bastards are LIGHT!

  • WRONG the FD RX-7 was only available in the United States from 1993-1995

  • I see that, bummer, I confused the "last year Japan exported" with the last year Japan exported to the US. No wonder these are flipping pricey cars!
