im shocked that PL didn't light a cyno and call in 37 moms 74 carriers 52 dreads and 17 titans during this fight. I don't think ive EVER even heard of them fight in this fashion, ever!

Whatever you do in EVE, there is almost never any 'best'. Just different way to do stuff. Minmatar have a very, very strong frigate in the Rifter, but overall take a lot of SP to fly, because they often mix stuff up (like shield tanking and armor tanking). About every Race can field some mean PvP setups on some ships, so in the end, you need to know what you want to do in PvP. And then ask ingame for the ships most suited to that role. ~
~ As any race can learn to fly any ships, you should choose your race more by looks/background. Especially these days, where you start with almost zero skills and instead a fast learning bonus, it's no problem at all to switch immediatly to the ships and weapons of another race.
EVE, imo, is the only wow killer out there. It's definitely for a mature audience. If they would only add more than just a picture for your character because there's no real true avatar.

Sorry for the late response, but you need a ShaderModel 2 gfx to run this game. any new card that you buy will have that so just get a cheap $20 card and it will work
Well.... hwo ever long you play this game you will still be learning new stuff. There is just too much to learn. If you want to get "to the end", EVE is no game for you. But someone who plays the markets and really treats EVE as a really complex business simulation doesn't need to know much about PvP or alliance warfare. Someone just out to be an evil pirate and kill, loot and pillage stuff does not neccessarily know much about mission running and so on... don't be afraid, but be patient.
malcoth is right. There are many paths to success in EVE, and you only need to focus on one area of knowledge at first. Once you're sufficiently comfortable with exploiting your first routes of advancement (say mining and pirating), you can move on to new industries (say research and "market PVP"). Oh, and remember that playing EVE solo (without a corp) is almost pointless, unless you're an economic/business genius.
Wow. I played a lot of games in my time, and only developed an interest in world of warcraft up to lvl 48, and fould that it was too time consuming for a working 54 year old. This game seems much more intense. Hell, from listening to these two guys I think that I might need a few years of college to play. I just bought the game on ebay, and will try to play soon. Do the missions you get at the start, then when those are done, hit F12, look for the three career agents. Do all of them. Read what they and the tutorial pop ups tell you. It will spare you a lot of grief. Also, don't be afraid to ask in the help chat. I don't hang around the English one much, so I don't know it well, but it should be helpful enough. Try the corporation EVE University, it's player run and trains new players for years now, and are good at that as far as you hear.
looks awesome at this level, but the control scheme just overwhelmed me, the game is a very abstract interesting mmo but has such a high curve its hard to get into it. It took me forever to get any of the menus and my first mission was alright but the ones after were very frustrating...oh well :)

You dont really lose out all that much starting late. You just have to specialize in a certain area. I have 6 years worth of skills, but I fly a ship that only takes a year of skills or less to get, nearly all the time.
EVE has a very steep learning curve and CCP is trying to change that. The only suggestion I can give you is play through all the tuts, read all the help pages, and take things slow. EVE can seem really overwhelming as soon as you do something as simple as opening the market window. Start with frigates, move on to cruisers, compare fittings, and slowly but surely you will get the hang of things, just take it step by step. If you go into EVE and want to rush into things, you will get confused.
Currently, CCP's primary focus is the mature group of gamers, who naturally have more patience than teeenagers have. The adult group is more mathematically thinking, which suits a game such EVE better than alot of gaming time does.
It saddens me - as a teenager:) - that there isn't any other proper space-combat game out there, because i have to admit im just not that patient. I think CCP is currently trying to attract a broader group of players, because they have discovered this.
and don't be afraid to ask. I've either learned the game through personal experience, or through guidance by the rest of the community. Find a player-run corp who's willing to show you the ropes, trust me, there's a lot of them out there. As far as skill goes, it's different for everybody, old or new, this race or that. It's about where you focus your skills on that you become something.
One thing about EVE's comunity, being that it is such a high learning curve, there are less ...how should I put this... "mean" people who scream l2play nub. A lot of the players are more than willing to help, though there are still a bunch of idiots you won't have much trouble getting into it, if you know how to ask questions (the right questions, not "CAN I FLY A BIG SHIP" over and over)

I stumbled into this Video while Youtube surfing and did some follow-up searches on EVE. Hadn't ever heard of EVE before this and i canceled my WoW ( with 5 70+ toons and 4 MAJOR twinks) and my warhammer account.
Cant get enough of this game.
14 day free trial is awesome and Im hooked. Only thing that might pull me away is Startrek Online. Been waiting for that but I dunno now.
The thing about EVE is that there is no end what so ever, i dont think any player actually has all skills at lvl 5, or even all skills trained at all. While in WoW EVERYONE is at max level with set items and stuff.
I never realized before how amazing Command ships are. There's really nothing else in Eve right now that can go 1v1 with them. T3 ships are going to be a fun and necessary step forward, but I think they're going to badly shake up the existing balance power.
AT7 is going to be even more different from AT6 than this one was from AT5.
yes, they CAN be vulnerable and not ALL of them are strong. Any ship can die, of course.
But if you fight a well-fitted, well-skilled field command ship 1v1 you will lose, short of an armor hole or some really bad decisions on their part. The abaddon learned that a few matches back.
God damn, RUR impressed me to the end. Wish they'd gone with a different setup than the caracals, or at least added some tackle and hero hawks to the mix...
I really liked your channel and this video. If you need any help getting this video exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. Its nice.
Interesting to see the Vexors didn't dump drones at the begining, or even mid opening. Even more suprising they were running almost full dampeners, really worked out well for them.
The Titans are probably GM's or just there for looks (you know the leaders of certain races or whom ever are in them watching the tourney. RPG side of things :))
Would be great go see a 20 v 20 cap fight with super characters (Dev's/Gm's V EVE Commentary team)
They are military officials from the Gallente Federation, Amarr Empire and the Caldari State, they are there to serve as witness officials. I beleive the one piloting the Avatar is the son of the head of one of the 5 Royal Families of the Amarr Empire.

We went in for an ambush on a guy.. the "guy" also had a planned ambush on our guy...
Ended with 2 rather big groups on like 10 ships each crashed into each other and hell broke out..

There are patches for the game, they are free. You still have you pay for the game.

i use to play runescape then that turned out to be a suck ass game then i went to guild wars- worst game i ever played, then wow very great game still love it then eve my fav game i ever played!

I stumbled into this Video while Youtube surfing and did some follow-up searches on EVE. Hadn't ever heard of EVE before this and i canceled my WoW ( with 5 70+ toons and 4 MAJOR twinks) and my warhammer account.
Cant get enough of this game.
14 day free trial is awesome and Im hooked. Only thing that might pull me away is Startrek Online. Been waiting for that but I dunno now.
EVE broke me of Blizzard's addiction machine.

The thing about EVE is that there is no end what so ever, i dont think any player actually has all skills at lvl 5, or even all skills trained at all. While in WoW EVERYONE is at max level with set items and stuff.

I never realized before how amazing Command ships are. There's really nothing else in Eve right now that can go 1v1 with them. T3 ships are going to be a fun and necessary step forward, but I think they're going to badly shake up the existing balance power.
AT7 is going to be even more different from AT6 than this one was from AT5.

Ok, lets not exaggerate here shall we. Not all command ships are strong, nor are they the solo beasts that you make them out to be.
Neuts can still hurt them quite bad and depending on what drones they use they can be vulnerable to small close range tacklers.

yes, they CAN be vulnerable and not ALL of them are strong. Any ship can die, of course.
But if you fight a well-fitted, well-skilled field command ship 1v1 you will lose, short of an armor hole or some really bad decisions on their part. The abaddon learned that a few matches back.

Interesting to see the Vexors didn't dump drones at the begining, or even mid opening. Even more suprising they were running almost full dampeners, really worked out well for them.

The Titans are probably GM's or just there for looks (you know the leaders of certain races or whom ever are in them watching the tourney. RPG side of things :))
Would be great go see a 20 v 20 cap fight with super characters (Dev's/Gm's V EVE Commentary team)

They are military officials from the Gallente Federation, Amarr Empire and the Caldari State, they are there to serve as witness officials. I beleive the one piloting the Avatar is the son of the head of one of the 5 Royal Families of the Amarr Empire.
