absolutely epic and beautiful film. this scene is great but its worth nothin compared to the whole scope of the entire film. WATCH THE MOVIE but if all ur interested in is blowing up robots then this wont be for you, its way way more deep than that. epic.
ok! this is some sick ass shit and I'm gonna find it and buy it. I've seen the anime and I've known about this for awhile but I didn't know it looked like this. Pretty! cool
I haven't seen a much of this movie, but I can't say I care much for the way this scene was done. I think it relies too heavily on CG, and to me that just makes the use of the green screen too obvious. You know less is more and all that. It's a shame, because from the other clips I've seen, the cinematography and acting both seem to be great. But that's just like, my opinion, man.
@MagnificentTyler The movie would have looked so much better if it was made in the later part of the decade. I've seen the movie and I would say that because of the universe that the world is in (if that made sense), nothing could be filmed without a green screen unless it was indoors. It was kinda like Avatar, where the entire world had to be created. Good thing about the movie was that it had story and character, not just a soulless action flick like Akira is probably going to be.
@Marknashhoppus no sir, none...but you might want to look up Eatman, he eats metal & turns it into weapons via his hands, though i'm sure that Tobor The 8th Man & Casshern influenced the Mega world in some way, Japan is big on robots
@Marknashhoppus Actually, the entire setup to Megaman and the original Casshern series is pretty much identical. "Evil robots take over the world, then good human-like robot fights them." There's even a dog that turns into a plane named "Friender."
@Marknashhoppus Mega Man is HEAVILY based on the original Casshern anime series (from 1970s); in the original, Casshern has a robot dog that transforms in a jet and fights against his prototype robot brother (whose design is a lot like Sigma from Mega Man X), and Casshern himself is the son of a scientist that accepts to be transformed into a fighting robot. So, there you have it. Casshern and Mega Man are awesome.
@CervantesXV The best 'interpretation' or 'imitation' of Casshern has to be the lead character from the game Vanquish. You have to check out the action on that. Mega Man has nothing on the main character.
i watched casshern sins anime this weekend and it was the best anime I have ver seen, but mainly bc of the story and this one doesnt seem to stick to that same story so idk, but im gunna give it a try.
@Zuranthus yeah i didnt think itd be too great, but the anime series was one of the best, so atleast thats still there haha thanks for the warning though XD
@Wretchedwithin its actually really good when its seen in HD. but what you like about the anime is probably not there. the entire movie is basically a work of visual art. storyline kinda sucks
@hypVideo yeah, I more or so got that idea, but I did really enjoy the visuals, mainly because it was unique and very artistic in a sense. not for everyone but you can still appreciate it
cassherns one of the best films ive ever seen !! absolutely amazing ive seen it about 10 times. this is the most intense scene in the film but the cinematography in the whole film is beautiful and the way the story unfolds is epic.
@ILLRICARDO Visually I agree, it was amazing, the problem is the story, which was almost complete nonsense. But this scene is, actually, pretty damn cool.
Despite it's flaws, I found the plot to be rather compelling and comprehensible...until the ending. The absurd finale of the film devolves into a mess of wannabe Hamlet-esque melodrama and post-modernist mumbo jumbo. Somehow what I thought was to be an anti-war film that used a famed superhero as its medium (much like how Nolan uses the Batman films to touch on real-world issues) became a messy avant-garde experiment that would make even Kubrick scratch his head. Beautiful to look at though.
The movie is so, so good that became a cult. Actually, haters appear after they watch and don't get it. Don't blame yourselves, guys. Low IQ people cannot understand it anyway. ;-]
There are just some things not meant to make sense, sides too much god in the machine for me. An over inflated intellect doesn't mean it has any content ;-)
