  • @everyone whos breaking their strings...either change them more often or use better quality strings..i advise doing both...buy elexir strings they dont rust (some nanoweb shit inside them stops it) my last set of 12-48's lasted me 5 months..and still didnt snap (i changed them cuz i had a show to do) id use 12-48's if yous are going this low..or lower...all in all just experiment with strings and see whats right for you

  • how the fuck do you break strings by lowering them?

  • @n00zlayergaming if your strings need changing badly no matter what you do with them they will snap....fine tuning, up tuning, down tuning, whammy dives, bends, pitch harmonic..just about anything can break your strings when theyre old as fuck...get your answer?

  • Like if you skipped around :)

  • FUCKING ASSHOLE you broke my string :(

  • @nikispasov46 learn how to tune a guitar lol

  • 0:00 B

    0:32 F#

    1:07 B

    1:39 E

    2:14 G#

    2:48 E

Thumbs up to speed things along.

  • thumbs up of you broke your E# lol

  • FUCKKKKK I BROKE MY E

  • At the beginning im come on already? where's the tut!?

  • My string broke at the last one

  • @TheGHAlex A string shouldn't break if you're lowering the tuning unless it's really old. You might have been turning it the wrong way :P

  • i came here so i could learn some machine head in the right tuning <3

  • I have 12s and they are awesome for drop B

  • NILE FTW!!!

  • Thumbs up if you came here cause you want to learn a Slipknot song :D

  • @SuperXXDOOMXx Hell yeah! :D

  • Dude you need to shorten this vid up.

  • Comment removed

  • What Size of strings should i get? i got 10s atm.

  • @919Du Get 11s thats what i have and they work perfect with the drop b tuning

  • Comment removed

  • HOW THE FUCK DID I BREAK A STRING TUNING DOWN?!?!?

  • @PAIGEandPATRICK shit happens to me too sometimes lol

  • @PAIGEandPATRICK Man! Same thing happened to me! I'm almost finished, and then as I'm dropping the first string, it snaps! WTF?

  • @PAIGEandPATRICK it happens. Only thing you can do is just do it really slow.

  • isn't drop B supposed to refer to actually dropping the B, ala BADGBE like Rusty Cage/Holy Water by Soundgarden? wow, this messed up terminology makes me feel old. I've been playing geetar since 1989 and that was definitely not what I grew up thinking drop B was...sorry, not looking for an argument, just saying, it kind of makes no sense.

  • @derekdeprator you play guitar from 1989, but still write 'geetar'? lol

  • @MrTerrifyer I play guitars from all kinds of years, and lots of people misspell things on purpose, have a sense or humor lol.

  • @ffretshredder55 agree!

  • time for veil of maya whores ;D

  • Machine Fucking Head time :D

  • @ChogRocker yes.

  • now i can play some five finger death punch fuck yeah lol

  • Holy shit!!!! SLIPKNOT IS IN A. SOAD IS C Sharp!!! or C.

  • yay, SOAD TIME MA FRIENDS!!! THNXS FOR THE VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!

  • SLIPKNOT!

  • Thank you very helpful, and I'm using 9 gauge strings and its not really hard to get used to, but the low B is pretty flimsy :P

  • @CWOLF28

Bro when you play in tunes likes C and B You nedd to get lower gauge strings so 11s or 12s. If you try to play in drop b with 9s its like trying to play with spagehetti.

  • @TDWPruelz not really dude, it's not difficult playing with my 9 gauges at all, I mean I guess if you suck and have no control in your picking or finger bending it could be difficult, but its fine for me

  • I thank you, sir.

  • @njmjpena these videos save my life. i lose my tuner wayyy too much.

  • Thumbs Up for A Day To Remember:) or if u think Slipknot is gay!

  • @TylerJohnsonSK8 you're fucking gay

  • @TylerJohnsonSK8 They're both gay

  • video is like 40 times too long.

  • lol thumbs up if you watched this to play a song by slipknot

  • time to play slipknot \m/( >.< )\m/

  • Now for some slipknot

  • Thanks that was a huge help

  • 1:44 is that an e or f

  • @1C9J9S5 letter "E"

  • @njmjpena looks like the letter L, C, and P had a fucked up baby...hahahaha

  • hehe this actually helped ^.^

  • @lambofgod661 lol ok

  • yes! i tuned it to drop b, now time to play some smooth jazz....

  • thanks for this, some people wanted to cover our track "New World Order" and "SpEciMeN 58" and i found this to help them tune to B! Cheers for the help! check out channel and let me know what you think of our tracks!

  • fuck u ! i kill my E ! ... 3 times ...

  • what is the font in this video?

  • @Bianca97LP Lol just found "People=Shit" by slipknot on ultimate guitar, then came to this vid for tuning lol, found your comment and was like "Yes, someone who likes good music!"

  • Actually i have a Jackson and it came with thinner strings and it does feel like rubber bands but it helps with pinched harmonics and hammer on and pull offs

  • Just started playing guitar, its discouraging to know you can play a song but can't get the tune or strumming right, makes me wanna quit

  • what gage would you recomend for this tunning?

  • Thanks matee!! need it for alone by parkway drive~

  • Cool video. This is what my band currently tunes to. Check out my videos to hear some heaviness

  • Rubber bands???? Can someone clear it out for me plz

  • thanks man, got a gig tomorrow and i lost my tuner, you really saved me :)

  • sounds nice on a gibson sg 61 reissue

  • its so wierd to think a video of music notes from a guitar can have near 100,000 hits on youtube lol

  • @njmjpena just shows u how ,many people are either to lazy or to broke to go buy a tuner (i fall into the too lazy category, hald these views are prolly from me xD)

  • @njmjpena I agree dude, I got about half your views for my A# video that I responded with haha, it's very useful to people. And for the record, I tune to this video all the time lol I play in Drop B with my band

  • @njmjpena

what wierd >? dont like it ? fuck off then dumbshit !!

  • @dirtoff99 u mad?

  • @ShadowSmell

what the hell mad ?hehehe you fucking serious ? every one with his test

drop B its the best for me even G# !! this my kind and a lot of ppls kind of fever tune

  • @dirtoff99 i meant that you just randomly started cursing just because he said its weird, fuck off yourself

  • This would have been a lot easier without distortion... It's pretty much beginners who are going to be looking for this kind of thing, so tuning with distortion is hardly making it easier for them.

  • thanks for the tuneing yo!

  • all of you people are retards, don't comment ever!

  • Is there a tuner for drop B and that kind of stuff? :O

  • @Oda7Fengkai7 this IS a tuner for drop B... you might have noticed the title says "DROP B TUNING IF YOU DONT HAVE A TUNER"

  • what am I doing to my classic guitar? o.O

  • @Bianca97LP you're playing a classical guitar in drop b?!

  • @njmjpena i'll get my electric guitar monday...i know it's weird... now i'm playing slipknot on a classical guitar xD

  • @Bianca97LP thats awesome though!

  • @njmjpena yep....here i am with my electric guitar xD....i think i should buy some thick gauge strings...

  • @Bianca97LP i know xD

  • @njmjpena

    Whoa man, Thats hardcore xD

  • Comment removed

  • look it is easier identify the notes without distortion.... in addition there are those who do not have ear trained, without distortion its easier for them, ahhh mmm i am musician... if you dont use distortion while tune will be easier for beginners

  • you idiot you cannot tune with distortion!!!!!

  • @theDarKSidE5567 really?, holy crap i didnt know that,,, and who are you to make that assumption?

  • @njmjpena goddamn it why do u take so fucking long? but thanks anyway...moron

  • @theDarKSidE5567 XD what? your retarded...

  • @theDarKSidE5567 actually i was able to tune my guitar even without distortion on mine so u cant anything

  • @theDarKSidE5567 Lol i beg to differ you furry white clump. I tune to this and it's dead on. Unless you dont have ears, You should be able to tune to lots of sounds.

  • @theDarKSidE5567 I've been a guitar player for about 6 years now, and signed artist and a conservatory student for about a year now, and let me tell you, I've always tuned with distortion, because it makes the waves more acute and you get to ad as much tone as you please, so you feel an extra punch when the note vibrates off-tune. cheers, and good day.

  • Very good video, i tuned my guitar perfectly, all other fuckers who thought they are big guitarist can shut the fuck up. Thanks for taht vid, i broken my tuner :D Heavy metal rulez! \m/_

  • Its stupid downtuing like that, if you want to play that tunning, give your guitar to a guitar artisan to set your neck for this. Or do it by yourself if you dare.

Otherwise, you just fuck up your strings and neck, without propper settings. I know what am I talking about.

  • @FleshStarvingBass who are you referring to?

  • @FleshStarvingBass

No you do not know what you're talking about, anyone can tune down as much as they want lol, you just gotta do it right xD it's not like guitar whatever you said has magic in their hands and finger so they dont ''fuck up'' your strings, noob.

  • @ZonixZ59706090 Sadly, you are completely wrong. Of course you can downtune as you want - as a noob. Professional players downtune they will buy higher gauge strings and set the neck for that tunning.

And you idiots still wonder, why your strings buzz, your tremolo is completelly fucked up and so on.

I dont care, its your fight. I do what professionals do and so are my results.

  • @FleshStarvingBass

I've been playing for 4 years I can probably tune pretty damn well idiot, I got nice thick strings, they dont feel as rubber when tuned down to B. LOL I've been tuning down to drop B, drop C for about 4 years now and still nothing happened. Hmm... Oh yeah maybe cause you need to be a noob to break your strings. My friend did that, and I did it once the first time I tuned my guitar. My fight or not, it's cheap to buy new strings anyway.

  • @ZonixZ59706090

You have already confirmed my opinion, you have thick strings. I use DR Down-Tuning and it is for the same reason. I Was talking to people who play in standard tunning or 1 step down and they look at this video and they are like " OK, now Im gonna downtune for 1 song and go back for my tunning". Thats the biggest mistake you can do => worthles vid. But if you have your guitar only for Drop B, you are doing it right tough it can be always better with setting from guitar artisan.

  • @FleshStarvingBass

I know that, my guitar teacher said, that if you jam and jam on your regular tuning, and then tune down, it's gonna be a little bit tough for the strings to get used to the new tuning, and therefore will possibly detune themselves automatically, and if you're gonna tune back to regular tuning again, they arent gonna be good either.

  • @ZonixZ59706090 Exactly ! Well I play bass so its more complicated with downtunning than guitar, and setting neck is a must. But also have guitar in drop C, my neck is set, maybe it is not necessary for guitar to set neck, but stil, stick to the one tunning. But hey, if you are in standard and downtune just one string to drop D, its not that bad.. not ideal, but can do it.

  • @FleshStarvingBass

And it's not a worthless video, because if one decides to play a drop B tuning ONLY, not any other tuning, right NOW, they drop their tuning to B, and play. Once they are done, they leave the guitar a few hours or more, to let the strings get used to it. Then when they are going to play again, they think through, hmm, do I want to play any tunings else but that? If they do, then they prioritize what they want to play to not waste the strings. And people may not know how to.

  • @ZonixZ59706090 i dont understand the big deal, strings are like 20$ lol who gives a fuck if you waste them

  • @loismustdie175

Me neither, but either way, you'd rather do it right than waste it and buy new strings, right?

  • @ZonixZ59706090 yea man, hey since were talking about guitat shit, i have an epiphone les paul, and these strings i put on were kinda rattlling so i unscrewed the bridge a bit, to try and raise the strings a bit, but then i realized that i may have fucked it up, do you think i fucked it up?

  • @loismustdie175

You probably threw off your intonation. Whenever you raise/lower the bridge, you have to adjust your intonation again. This adjusts the length of the string from the bridge to the nut. If you don't have the intonation adjusted, it can cause the strings to be out of tune, even if you're perfectly in tune.

It's a tedious process though. You really have to spend some time getting it right. Adjust your bridge height to how you like it, and then adjust your intonation.

  • @jman0410 so can i bring it to a guitar shop to get it set right?

  • @loismustdie175

You could, but adjusting the intonation is easy, it just takes time because it's an even more precise way of tuning your guitar. I would do it yourself, just so you know what to do if you ever have to do it again. It's easy, it's just a lot of trial and error, going back and forth and adjusting. Just look up some videos. All you need is a small flathead screwdriver.

  • @ZonixZ59706090 I see your point, but there is so many of "If". You know what I mean ?

  • @FleshStarvingBass no you dont you fucking retard, this is electric guitar we're talking about fuck your stupid get a life.

  • @Timbitation Speak english please. Oh wait.. you can't, you are retarded. Learn something about music. Oh wait, you can't, you are retard.

  • @FleshStarvingBass Lol Everything i spelt was correct english, tune to this and ten tune to normal, and then tune to 128374 others and you can tune perfect. fucking Dunce.

  • @FleshStarvingBass you can down-tune your guitar as low as you want, and you wont fuck your neck, you will fuck your strings if you have 8 or 9 gouge strings, you'll need a thicker string gouge, but aside from that, you're ready to go. The only exception I can think of is a guitar with a tremolo bridge, but it would have to be a really shitty tremolo bridge for it not to hold, and for that matter all you have to do is just ad an extra support for the bridge, most guitars include spares.

  • @FleshStarvingBass obviously you dont, cause i go from drop d to drop A# no problem with my neck through fixed vridge guitar.....dont spout useless information unless you really do know what your talking about

  • This takes forever for me! :/ DAMN YOU FLOATING TREMOLO!

  • My guitar is in drop C at the moment

and your 'B' sounds exactly the same as my open

  • @mrskinner93 well then its not in drop c

  • Great video for those who there tuner dosen't work.

Anyway, wath string gauge should i use for B tuning/Drop-A tuning?

  • Drop B is my favorite tunning. My band uses it, but cheers for the video I can give it to my mate instead of him making me tune his fucking guitar all the time. He's always trying to cover near ruin songs like new world order and the masterpeice so he needs drop b and c. Thanks again.

  • 11 gauge strings work the best for the dropped tunings

and the video is wayyyy too long

  • 11 gauge strings work the best for the dropped tunings

  • holy shit, thats fucking annoying

  • lol i guess im just not use to it plus i don't have a distortion peddle only the overdrive on my amp which blows nuts, so don't get your panties in a tangle everyone

  • This is useless. how the fuck are you supposed to tune your guitar when theres distortion.

  • @masterlinkx31 well you listen for the pitch

  • Distoration*

  • Thanks alot man it was kinda hard to tune with the desoration but thanks any ways

  • how the fuck are you going to tune with distortion.... pointless video.

  • @Zomgwtfbbq1228 this isnt a pointless video for the other 67,269+ ppl that have watched it and tuned it.

  • @njmjpena YUP, i use this video every time i tune down because i dont have a chromatic tuner.

  • @Zomgwtfbbq1228 i've done it

  • @Zomgwtfbbq1228 If you tune distortion against distortion the electrostatic vibration will wobble if it is out of tune. If it is in-tune it will remain as one pitch, therefore you should have an easy idea that your guitar is in-tune Mr. ZomgwtfbbgIlikedickinthemouth.

  • @Zomgwtfbbq1228 you're retarded.

  • @Zomgwtfbbq1228 yeahh youre just bad...i tuned in 5 secs to this video...its fine wtf are you talking bout lol

  • @EJI253 haha

  • @njmjpena Doin it right now, use it all the time, and look how successful I got! hahaah jk

  • @Zomgwtfbbq1228 the only pointless thing i have noticed is that it doesn't take 3 minutes to tune anything.

  • @Zomgwtfbbq1228 noob, noob, and again , NOOB...the point is in your pussy...

  • @Metallicafanfrom93 trolloololololollllololololollll

  • @Zomgwtfbbq1228 I tuned fine. You just have a bad ear for pitch and tone.

  • @Zomgwtfbbq1228

If you can't tell what the notes are with the distortion, then you have a shitty ear. It's easy to tell which notes are what with or without distortion.

  • @Zomgwtfbbq1228 If you cant tune with distorion you are noob.

  • ty :D

  • you Broke My High E String Jerk

  • @Stand4God91 then u tuned up insted of down :P

  • string suggestion: ernie ball beefy slinky! thick gauge, so you're not playing with strings that feel like noodles

  • 0:03 B

    0:34 F#

    1:08 B

    1:39 E

    2:14 G#

    2:53 C#

  • jeej new soilwork album here i come

  • thank you!

  • sorry but isn't drop B 2 full steps down from drop D?

  • @skate101lane no its only half step down, as drop d is full 2.

  • @skate101lane 1 1/2 :)

  • this video could have been shorter =/

  • this is a sick track

  • i went and bought some ernie ball strings and they have a way higher gauge than the strings my guitar came with.

  • Who else is using this for folk tunings and not metal?

  • @cnnr17 FUCK YOU

  • if you never want to re tune again use 12s my band plays in b and i used to use 12s but i preffer 11s now.

  • @cnnr17 ....kk...white flag

  • @cnnr17 ........i give a fucking shit on what u think about me or slipknot...and if i were you i would have a little of education about slipknot, i mean paul gray (bassist) died last may, so have some respect big mouth fucker stupid cocksucker.

  • @cnnr17 ...thank you....please tell me more sweetie
