  • Okay I do remember this from when I was a kid. I think it used to make me cry. lol. "I am so embaressed!" (That was my Grover imitation if you could not tell). I love this video. It is adorable.

  • Thanks for reposting this.

  • Is this meant to be a parody of Nat King Cole's L-O-V-E?

  • that's what it reminds me of.

  • I believe so.

  • Both the melody and the lyric structure remind me of another spell-it-out song, probably from the 40s or 50s. I don't know the composer or the title, but the ending includes "Put them all together, they spell 'mother'".

  • Just checked Google--the song that inspired D-U-C-K-I-E *does* seem to be Eddy Arnold's "Mother (a Word That Means the World to Me)".

  • Don't think I know that one.

  • Search for "they spell mother" plus "song lyrics" on Google; you've probably heard a few other, more risqué parodies that come up if you don't know the original.

  • @Garrettk41 Well, I Do

  • @cstoczyn Good for you.

  • @hoopersghost Long Live Edward Arnold!!!!

  • "I be there if you're in hot water" makes me think of the bathtub of course.

  • Heh-this is sweet and very cute!

  • Yes indeed.

  • That could be from 1984.
