Theres a big difference between killing animals for food and torturing them as they you show in this video. If you feel sympathy and sadness as you watch then mute the video and you'll see it differently. You will only feel disgusted, and who wouldnt? Im not used to seeing this. But theres ways you can kill an animal so it doesnt feel pain. No one should ever hurt an animal for pleasure but if you choose to kill it, then eat it because you NEED to. Animals eat other animals too yea know.

They may not be as smart as us nor understand things like us but they certainly feel pain and a great deal of it indeed.

Also because we don't need to do it and we know better. Other animals just do it purely instinctively.
Also lions may kill their prey bt they don't cage them up or put them in pens for their whole lives and give them drugs to make them grow faster and all the other sorts of horrible things humans do

@RixPixable The difference is firstly they go through a much worse life then they would if they had lived in the wild and secondly billions more animals are produced through the meat industry then should have ever lived and no there not lives they'd be thankful for because as I said there life is much worse undergoing this process and thirdly they still do have a chance of living longer if they lived in the wild but mainly its that, that life would be far more free, worth-living and enjoyable.

Animal Slaughter should be banned in at least the developed world because:
1. It is not a necessity
2. Animal Slaughter causes 1000s maybe millions more animals to live than would be if they just lived in the wild and no these lives are not spent in freedom and so less animals suffering is better than more animals suffering and furthermore animals in a slaughterhouse means absolute death (and soon) living in the wild offers more opportunities.
@ - We do. We would have much more land free if we only ate veggies, as meat production uses up simply too much land. The soya going to feed animals wouldn't need to exist so less land would be used. There is no humane way to kill, as most of the time animals are stunned or shot incorrectly and still suffer before slaughter.

I never said that we should throw animals out there. As less and less people stop eating meat, the demand for it will go down, so less animals will be artificially bred, therefore less animals. Animals could be kept by people not to eat, but to live with. Different slaughter methods - the government and company managers wouldn't care.

I'm sorry. This isn't humane slaughter. It would be cheaper, and easier. To kill animals with a gun, I know that sounds incredibly cruel. But if you look at facts, there is no way we can convert the global diet to vegetables.. It's just not happening. However we can change the way these animals final moments are spent. @RixPixable The difference is firstly they go through a much worse life then they would if they had lived in the wild and secondly billions more animals are produced through the meat industry then should have ever lived and no there not lives they'd be thankful for because as I said there life is much worse undergoing this process and thirdly they still do have a chance of living longer if they lived in the wild but mainly its that, that life would be far more free, worth-living and enjoyable.

Animal Slaughter should be banned in at least the developed world because:
1. It is not a necessity
2. Animal Slaughter causes 1000s maybe millions more animals to live than would be if they just lived in the wild and no these lives are not spent in freedom and so less animals suffering is better than more animals suffering and furthermore animals in a slaughterhouse means absolute death (and soon) living in the wild offers more opportunities.

@ - We do. We would have much more land free if we only ate veggies, as meat production uses up simply too much land. The soya going to feed animals wouldn't need to exist so less land would be used. There is no humane way to kill, as most of the time animals are stunned or shot incorrectly and still suffer before slaughter.

I would really love to see animals thrive in the wild but, if you just threw all the animals out there. They would have no idea what to do. I never said that we should throw animals out there. As less and less people stop eating meat, the demand for it will go down, so less animals will be artificially bred, therefore less animals. Animals could be kept by people not to eat, but to live with. Different slaughter methods - the government and company managers wouldn't care.

Point being, better living conditions for animals in the slaughterhouse, and better methods used to kill the animals. I wasn't really trying to start an argument, I was trying to have an intellectual conversation about an issue that is moderately important in my eyes. My question to you now would be. Why can't we just use guns to kill animals? Quicker methods are easier methods.

I'm sorry. This isn't humane slaughter. It would be cheaper, and easier. To kill animals with a gun, I know that sounds incredibly cruel. But if you look at facts, there is no way we can convert the global diet to vegetables.. It's just not happening. However we can change the way these animals final moments are spent. I'm not upset at the people that do this. They are only doing they're job. However I am upset at how this was ever agreed upon by any group of people with half a brain.

However, I would feel better about it if it was humane. And to your "Humane Slaughter" statement. I disagree. There is a difference between having your throat slit, and being shot.. This is horrible. I am not a vegetarian and I do enjoy eating meat, but slaughering these animals is wrong and needs to stop. I know at the end of the day, they are still dead either way, but keep in mind that these are God's creatures. He gave them to us to look after and care for. If you must kill it, do it humanely.
