No, not at all. Each Final Fantasy is a standalone title, with it's own storyline and most of them are in different universes, expect for a few of the compilations. And those don't even have to be in order, except maybe for VII and all it's prequels/sequels.

Most of the games in the Ivalice Alliance, and Fabula Nova Crystallis are stand-alone games in the same universe.

Watching this I JUST noticed Ashe has the same voice actor as Rukia from Bleach. With all the varying voices, she's probably the only anime/game VA staple in the game.
