Dude. I obviously was there. I've been there twice and yes there's no seating. By seating I meant position. Sorry you get hung up on terminology. Fail.
Dude. Terminology is pretty crucial in the written world! Anyways, Your complaining about stage presence at a Grizzly Bear concert ..would you like them to juggle during four part harmonies? I mean no harm this band just kicks to much ass to be bashed.
Alright, fair enough. Sorry if I seemed a bit hostile, I don't react well when one suggests or states that I'm lying.
Anyhow yeah I agree Grizzly Bear are a great band. However I got nothing from them at the concert. I mean musically they did a great job and for sure that's important, but they didn't really create any atmosphere beyond that, it didn't even seem as if they were that into their songs. As such I didn't really see the benefit of seeing them live as opposed to listening to the
Maybe I've been spoiled with other bands. I haven't seen tons, but when I saw Radiohead and Bowie they were clearly right into their music, and that makes hearing that songs almost more special in a way. To me at least. I still think it's something Grizzly Bear need to work on, but I'm sure it will come in time.
Oh absolutley man, I totally get what your saying. I shouldn't have been so quick to jump on you. They do seem sometimes a little bit aloof towards the music but to be fair.. I think thats due to the overall melancholy of their sound. Its kind of down-tempo. So it could almost seem out of place for them to be really jumping around.
..as for Radiohead and Bowie they are legends (both of whom I have seen, probably in the same crowd as you lol if your in T.O) and GB has really only just begun to make a splash in the music industry. I think they are unique and that is unfortunately a rarity in todays music. anyways cheers.
Oh for sure they're quite unique, and I think their music is fantastic. On a Neck, On a Spit is such an amazing song. I have no qualms with them musicwise.
What do you think of Department of Eagles? I absolutely love In Ear Park. The Cold Nose has a few good songs, but isn't nearly as good in my opinion.
Oh and yes, I was at Toronto for Bowie and Radiohead! It was a real treat having Grizzly Bear open for the latter, although I don't think they really suited that venue (Molson Ampitheatre). I got SOAKED at that concert, but it was worth it! I could't believe they played A Wolf at the Door, it's my absolute favourite.
Yeah Bro, I can tell since you know of DoE your not just someone who happened to watch a video. I definitely can see you have great taste in music. I hugely respect that. I like DOB alot, they have some excellent production value especially in the "In Ear Park" album which I will mention was produced by Chris Taylor (bassist and woodwind for GB you probably know) what do you think of Fleet Foxes or say Dirty Projectors?
I was just introduced to Fleet Foxes a couple of days ago, and based on the songs I was shown they didn't do a whole lot for me. I don't believe I've heard Dirty Projectors, are they comparable to anyone?
Thats actually an interesting opinion on the Fleet Foxes I must admit. I think them unlike GB should be seen live. I think they are great but once again heavily rely on harmonies but the lead vocalist has pipes. Dirty Projectors certainly can only be described as unique they blend unlikely beats to great harmonies (which by now you may see im a fan) check temecula sunrise on youtube by the DP you may like man.

Thanks for posting this video. I had good seats at the Phoenix until I got dizzy and had to make an exit. I had to watch this from the sides.
They seem to be quite true to their recorded music live, but they don't have a lot of stage presence.
