Anyone know if there's a gun that have a "counter weight" for the slide like almost under the gun so that when you shoot all the recoil ends up in the middle of your hand and the bullets won't go up? Cause if there isn't I see potential for a full auto super accurate pistol :D
@elon92 there is a series of holes along the top of the barrel that releases gasses upwards and keeps the nose pointing down just like a compensator on a flash hider. so i think they have it covered
@ganzer88 Well yeah, that's the glock 18c, but what I mean is a truly horizontal recoil where it's in the center of your hand only pushing the gun backwards and not upwards at all though that will probably require the barrel to be in the centre :/ ...
@elon92 i get what you mean now. well there are some revolvers out there that fire from the bottom of the cylinder instead of the top which makes the recoil more centered but maybe it wouldnt be practical to have the barrel lower down on a semi auto pistol because it wouldnt be very ergonomic to the shape of your hand.
@ganzer88 Yeah, probably wouldnt be ergonomic, that's why I suggested like a slide that would go down almost to your little finger in the front so that the centre mass of the slide is a lot lower down than on a normal gun, though I don't know exactly how much more of a vertical recoil you would get from doing this since the barrel where all the gasses come still is in the same place, it's just the centre mass of the slide I would want to change, that ought to make some difference.
@elon92 i see what your saying. the sub-machine gun called the kriss super v kinda uses that principle the bolt travels backwards then diverts downwards to counter the recoil so maybe they will use this principle in future fire arms designs.
@ganzer88 Yeah, wasn't that weapon on an episode of future weapons? didn't it also differ from other gun in the way it ejected the cartridges, like it ejected them behind the magazine making the risk of it jamming much lower?
@elon92 yeah thats the one it shot a .45 round great knock down power..you gotta love rick Machowicz ha but they really came up with something genius to counter the recoil on that thing i think maybe that system will be used more and more in future weapons designs.
@ganzer88 Yeah, that's basically where I got my idea. I tried my idea in a simulation, though I didn't get any result :/ Though that simulator isn't really accurate when it comes to explosions and stuff like that. You can watch my simulation of a gun I made (the gun looks horrible, but it's a pretty cool simulation anyway) by searching "elon92 gun" here on youtube
Yeah your right i was trying to make a after effects shell case when i was like ok time to export and then i actually asked my selft should it roll forward or backwards
Hehe, I have this video on my iPod. I was watching it at lunch the other day in school. Probably not the best idea. One of my teachers walked away with a kind of shocked expression.
GLOCK 18's have two fire rates: Automatic and Semi-Automatic. I thought it was interesting that the barrel seemed to 'bend' as the slide moved back (It seems to be not parallel)

I hate the recoil in handguns, your hand has to deal with everything in a small area..
Feels alot better to take it in the hand, handgrip(rifle) and shoulder at the same time :]

It's a floating barrel, it's like that for accuracy. It loads the same fixed or not

He didn't seem to be pulling the trigger. Wa that a fully auto glock 18?
dhummel 5 years ago
It's possible he could have been squeezing the trigger which isn't as appearant as pulling.... but I dunno.

some glocks have a burst-fire switch
idonthack 5 years ago
Yes, and it seems appearantly that the glock was in full auto according to all the clone videos.

The barrel tips back like that to make loading the next round easier. Its a very common feature on automatics.

the glock 18 has a selector switch from semi to full

I'm only see it in CS:S and hear about that. No real video anywhere. 8-\\

Pretty cool how you can see the casing spinning out, though you can only see a flash of the bullet coming out of the barrel.
