@SunSunSuperFun I had to make a custom frok up front to hold a 8" disc because the rim brakes were completly useless I do have them on the back but I only use the rear brakes to slow down not to stop. The front disc does all of the stopping.
@SunSunSuperFun v-brakes work just fine for any bike that sees less than 50mph and doesn't have to ride the brakes a lot down major hills. Just make sure those bolts are tight or the pad will rotate and cut your tire sidewall. They suck if water freezes on your rim though.
@rcvideogamer I can push it about 5KPH faster if I pedal I have set up the drivetrain on the bike to have a double overdrive so even slow peddaling is helping if I push it I can do 55kph on the flats
Two questions, if that bike has a motor do you have a license plate and pay licensing fees on it and arent you passing illegally on the right hand side. People shouldnt have to worry about cutting you off if you are not supposed to be passing them on the right in the first place. You should come to Seattle. The mayor loves people like you and your nazi bike mentallity.
@TheKlaukster first off you don't need a license for this type of bike by law here also I am in an established bike lane for my entire ride which is why I can pass on the right.
Great Video Chris!!! Although I have to tell you that I got pissed off when I saw that two door Honda Accord almost cut your off!!! It is amazing to me that "we" give licenses to people to drive who can't even ride a bike, powered or otherwise!!!
Thanks for answering other viewers questions!!! Looking forward to putting my own bike together!!!
All those cars stuck in traffic were probably like 'bastard!' and to think most of them are probably burning more gas sitting still/moving slowly than you are at full speed!
I have a small compressor and dual trumpet air horns. They run off a small seal lead acid battery mounted behind my seat. I got all of the bits at princess auto for about $40. The battery has enough juice to blow the horns about 5-6 times but it is still lite enough to handle on a bike.
Dude Thats just too Cool... Being a B-View boy I know where you live lol. PEACE man hope to see you on the road soon.. I just ordered my 1st in frame motor..
I don't think I saw a single car pass you on this video and the few that were traveling faster than you, you soon caught up with.. How are you over taking traffic if you average 45kmh (27mph)?
the lone ranger music is soooo appropriate... the legal jerks in my state say they are legal to ride but they have to be registered ... then they wont register them oh well ride on!
its fully you can be 15 in kansas and drive a 30,000lb tractor thru town at 30mph through town without insurance.... try to save some gas (AND) have it insured and they will pop you with huge fines.... gotta love rednecks
Do you live in Kansas? I do and i built a motorized bike from a weedeater and i rode it through town about 5 times or a total of 50 miles before i knew you had to have them registered. now its just sitting in the barn since i cant get it registered without a vin number :( getting a scooter vin number sounds like a good idea. do you know if they also have to be insured? that would kind of take the whole point of saving money right out of it.
I hadn't really thought about selling them I built it for fun...The engine is from Golden eagle and the bike I just built out of spare bike bits I had lying around. It is a lot of fun though
So I would be able to legally drive it on my local trail which allows bicycles? They do not allow motor driven vehicles, but you say it is under 50CC and is classified as a bike...
Nice job on the video. I would of liked to hear the natural noises of the ride. I have 2 of the gebe on my bikes and love them. I am working on a new video as my present one has way to much wind noise. I will post it soon. Have a good one and keep the shinny side up. Vern
These engines are so much fun. I have a 26cc 2 stroke from the same company (Golden Eagle Bike Engines) on a smaller bicycle for my wife and I have a 35cc 4 stroke on my 26" bicycle. We live in Florida and live about 45 min from the beach. These are great for the run to the beach. Easy to get around and you dont have to worry about parking and on top of that you can blast by all the traffic.
it is easier to pedal keep your balance on a recumbent when you pedal. I have also geared my bike so that the pedaling is actually doing somthing at those speeds. Which allows for greater range and a higher top speed.
man i need this, i could ride to the beach every weekend for 5 bucks

As a point of curiosity, do you need to use specialized brakes for this type of a build? Normal bike brakes can't be designed to handle this, right?

Do you need to wear an exhaust mask while riding? I would think breathing in all the car fumes can't be good for your lungs.
silverdoll7 1 year ago
actually studies have shown that because I am moving outside and not stopped in a car I am breathing in less fumes than the drivers around me

You could just find a wreaked moped and cut the frame piece out that has the VIN and weld it onto your bicycle and say that you modified your moped
