I've searched all over for a glcd user interface and nothing I found was ever nearly as complete as this! (even having two year already)

Many people search in the foruns but this seem to have been unnoticed...

For the interested ones the real juice is at the page provided by stan. Very well explained and full sharing of the code. I just found it now but will dig into it as soon as I can.

I think you've missed the point. There are no components from the phone here, outside of the screen (and the chip that implements drawing to it). This smashing chap has interfaced it with his own software.
