Hi , when i make airodump-ng (interface) it stays lika a lot of time processing....but doesnt appear anything. I tried this on college and, at least, i passed through this step and appeared to me some networks but, here, where i live there's some more networks but doesnt appear any. I stayed about 5/7 min waiting and nothing appeared.

Say the password I have cracked is 1234567890 that is ten chapters so aircrack-ng will dump the password with colons so that looks like 12:34:56:78:90 simplely remove colons and that is password.

@MilosCsrb I don't really think you can get aircrack to a windows os, but it comes with backtrack, and I think you can use it with ubuntu as well (and most likely other linux/unix based OSes) these can however be emulated in win7 with virtual machine software, like vwmare player

I then went over to my dads house (wep network too), followed all the steps, but the last step "aircrack-ng wep-01.cap" will only return my mom's network info.... how do I get it to return my dads network info (note, this was all done on my laptop which has bt5 installed on it)

after I type aircrack-ng wep-01.cap it trys to find the key but it fails and says wait for 5000 IV's. I waited several hours with the data building and tried again but at the top of my screen it only captures 223 IV's every time no matter how many times I try it? Any suggestions? Thanks!

@souljasky999 It depends on the name of the file you specified in the airodump command. In the case of this video, the name specified was "wep" so the file name in the aircrack command should be "wep-01.cap" !!

such bs. i like how you "cracked your own network (cisco) which was wpa2" when in fact aircrack decrypted (bells57) which was wep. see time stamp 4:29. at least do the real thing! wpa2 wpa needs a wordlist as well. i understand its listed as wep in the discription, but that's not what you started with.

This is WEP, you need a dictionary if your trying to crack a WPA/WPA2 network.., and that is nearly impossible if you set your code as a 63 passphrase..

he probably should have mentioned you need a compatible network card, or usb adaptor. You can search google for compatible devices. Just search "Aircrack-ng compatible adaptors" If its not compatible, it wont show up in the terminal.

@jackysu123 Depends. If you wanna use backtrack through vmware, just get the 32 bit. The gnome version. It's the one this guy is using. If you wanna make a live disk, it depends on how much memory your computer has. If you got more than 2gigs of ram (4,6,8, etc) go for 64bit. If not, 32 bit.

@jackysu123 no its not... you can start backtrack with the live CD direct from your boot. Just have to mark the CD drive to boot first. And you must have a card that is compatible with backtrack. But, for this tutorial he is using a USB Wireless card, so, it will work for sure.

Um..The file that you cracked is for WEP. why are you scanning a WPA2 ? Secondly, to crack a WPA or WPA2, you must have a handshake, which you obtain by doing a deauth, not an fakeauth. Your video says WEP, but in your airodump, it is a WPA2 ?
