Great song. Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik are at their best. Sonu always does a fantastic job. Alkaji sounds great- she always modulates her voice from the highs to lows very well. She has a good classical base, and Sonu is excellent, almost like Mohd Rafi ji . The only singer I would rate above Alka (excluding Lata and Asha) is Anuradha Paudwal. Anuradhaji has such a strong voice and classical base, even considering she isn't classically trained. Anuradhaji would have been a perfect choice too.

We have to win the hearts & minds of the Kashmiri youths & make them feel that India belongs to them as much as anybody else. Economic development of the region & job creation is the only way to truly integrate them into the mainstream.

i agree with you. sonu nigam is a great, versatile artist. and yes, sonu has a great classical base.. however, shaan also has a strong classical base.

sorry, I didnt mean to come off rude in any way, Shaan is a great singer but I've never heard him sing anything remotely classical like Sonu's 'bheege bheege' - it takes a lot of skill and riyaz to modulate your voice like that...which isn't Shaan's cup of tea (along with many other modern singers like KK, Kunal, Kailash, Lucky Ali ...and older singers like Kumar Sanu, Udit, Abhijeet). While they're great singers in their own respect, their classical base is weak.

i agree with you completely. i would suresh wadekar to your list, even though he sadly doesn't sing much nowadays. it is with the same reasoning that i rate kavitaji higher than any other female singer today.. her classical base is unmatched. the closest to her is probably chitra or shreya.

Besides, some people always hide behind an accusation of "communalism" as they cant argue with rationale.Those very people are the ones that care 2 hoots about India, they are in the ride for personal ego fueled by narrow perspective. @Altafzaman True man, we all educated people in India want the same. Pakistan and Bangladesh are our brothers. A fence or a barbed wire cannot divide us. Truely said in the song apart from humans all birds and animals cannot "see" the border at all. The human ego created it.
Just like you I hope one day our borders will cease to exist. History have shown repeatedly it is possible. It`s upto us now....."us" is you and me in THIS generation.

There are few playback singers today that are keeping classical music alive and incorporate classical nuances in even non-classical songs. Hariharan, Rahat saab, Sonu and Vijay Prakash (who sung 'manmohini morey' for Rahman's Yuvvraaj) are among the few. Sonu's versatility is why I hold him in higher esteem than other singers. and I agree, Mohd. Rafi is much better and more versatile artist than Kishore anyday :)

i do agree with you, if it was not 4 their parents they would not be where they are 2day. but u gotta admit that they are not all that bad, abhishek in my opinion brings some sort of uniqueness in his films but he hasn't been doing much. and everytime i see kareena, i always think she is not cut out 4 these film stuff.

Thats the problem with Anu Malik, he only works for money and banner. Refugee, Virasat these are classics by Anu Malik...! And not to forget Bichho songs were also composed by Anu Malik. An artist should not work "only" for money...! Kudos to Anu Bhai for this song at least...!

lol ur joking rite? sonu sings everything from classical to songs from the 50's to sufiyana songs, pop, romantic and is known as the most versatile singer to come by after the great mohd. rafi. how is shaan much ahead? he has lots of modern pop numbers maybe..but his classical base is weak. listen to the songs sonu has sung in his classically mild cd and tell me if shaan could sing those?

for spicy, peppy touch along with romantic ones...you cannot go for sonu nigam..and plz dont compare him with great mohammad rafi....
similarly see kishor kumar and rafi...rafi is champ of romantic, sad songs...but considering wide spectrum of moods and songs.....no one can beat kishore da....

you obviously havent heard his classical songs..Shaan doesnt do classical. and no "spicy, peppy touch"?? He has a damn seductive voice. listen to marhaba marhaba ..like to see Shaan sing that. He's sung many peppy songs like 'halka halka sa' Those songs easy to sing, no offense. It takes a true artist articulate the crazed passion in 'satrangi re' or the deep pensieve emotions in 'zindagi maut na ban jaye' or 'behka diya humein' ..you're prob only familiar with his light tunes like kal ho na ho

i agree with you. sonu nigam is a great, versatile artist. and yes, sonu has a great classical base.. however, shaan also has a strong classical base.
and i can not believe that vinitp2004 says that kishore is a better singer than rafi..

sorry, I didnt mean to come off rude in any way, Shaan is a great singer but I've never heard him sing anything remotely classical like Sonu's 'bheege bheege' - it takes a lot of skill and riyaz to modulate your voice like that...which isn't Shaan's cup of tea (along with many other modern singers like KK, Kunal, Kailash, Lucky Ali ...and older singers like Kumar Sanu, Udit, Abhijeet). While they're great singers in their own respect, their classical base is weak.

i agree with you completely. i would suresh wadekar to your list, even though he sadly doesn't sing much nowadays. it is with the same reasoning that i rate kavitaji higher than any other female singer today.. her classical base is unmatched. the closest to her is probably chitra or shreya.
