@DocPax In Hearts, your objective is to avoid taking tricks in which hearts or the Queen of Spades are played (the exception is if you're trying to "shoot the moon" by capturing all 14 such cards). The Queen of Spades is worth 13 points, and each heart is 1. If you shoot the moon, then you get no points, and the opponents get 26 points each. Play until someone gets 100 points; lowest score wins.
Thus, "strong" cards are a liability; you might be forced to win a trick that gives you points.
