if yah want to learn to pick properly just literally concentrate on that i uset to use my fingers but couldn't get the rhythms i wanted so i got a pick n just start strumming away on the strings randomly until it felt right, after that it just gets easier

n just practice different rythms, weather its simple 4 beats n half time like in dammit, or some of the more complex like less than jake,,,

best thing to do is pick some of the hardest songs and learn them first lol, its really works
