How'd you come to that conclusion?

The spartans didnt wear armour (OK they have huge shields), they were bigger in height but muscle mass ratio... maybe not, braver and more skilled is very debatable.

I brought up armour because if you've fought in armour you'll know that its fu**ing hard. And with the weight of armour attached to your body, you need more skill to produce the same abilities than without. not to mention the die or be shunned lifestyle.

I'd like to hear from you.

@Ieuan1990 The Spartan was born with a shield and armour . . If he dropped his shield in battle he would be killed on site by his commander or court marshalled and excacuted after battle. Pankration was the backbone of the Spartan training . Similiar to modern MMA but with eye gouging,biting ,groin shots and other maiming tactics .

What armour were they given? As for their fighting similar things were in all armies, the british said if you go another to the way my finger points, you'll be gunned down, samurai if defeated in any way killed themselves in shame. I take it you get the idea.

Pankration was a martial art that most resembles modern MMA . wrestling ,boxing ,kickboxing ,and submissions and deadly tactics like ,head drops,eye gouges,biting and groin strikes .

your to much believe on what movie shown, but thats exaggerate, yes the won againts enemy more than to their number( im not set aside they have good warriors), but facing them like fucking super man is impossible...remember that terrain is big factor in battle, the place they fought is something familiar to them(not for persains), there is possibility they made some ambush to anhilate the persians, using tactics not fucking fighting all over

They were the greatest ancient warriors ! Alexander destroyed every army he faced , never defeated ! Facing 600,000 with only 75,000 at Issus the Greeks slayed the Persians

Sorry i missed part.. maiming tactics are a massive part to all fighting styles, its to give you the advantage which you can then use to kill. It is still present in modern fighting styles, fake and real.
