  • It's longer than this but this is the short version.

  • Estonians also sing this song as one if their national songs.. :)

  • this is one of the shortest anthems i've heard ever...& seems to be a military wedding...but it's beautiful...nothing to criticize

  • where ever this song came from but who's asking you all. just know that this is the Micronesian national anthem.... get it!...

  • Hi,

It is hard to understand how an English drinking song became the national anthem of the United States of America either!...but it did, and in my opinion- easy to sing or not- the national Anthem of the USA is one of the most beautiful in the world.

As an Austrian, you probably realize that the words of the Micronesian National Anthem are also a very rough translation of the words in the beautiful European song.

That is of course not true of the words of the US national anthem!

  • Can anybody explain me, how a german nationalistic song of the 19th. century became the national anthem of micronesia?

If you don't believe me search for "Ich hab' mich ergeben"...

  • It was sold to Germany in 1899...just read the Wikipedia-Article about the History of Micronesia ;) Btw. the german song isnt nationalistic, just patriotic!

  • Jetzt könnte man diskutieren, wo die Grenze zwischen Patriotismus und Nationalismus verläuft, aber auf jeden Fall danke für die Info ;-)

  • Tis here we are pledging, with heart and with hand, Full measure of devotion to thee, our native land /repeat Now all join the chorus, let union abide. Across all Micronesia join hands on every side,/repeat We all work together, with hearts, voice and hand, Till we have made these islands another promised land,/repeat
  • This is the only rendition of the Micronesian national anthem I have ever heard and sung myself in Micronesia....very beautiful...very fitting for a beautiful country where many of my dearest friends were born and live with their families...Euripik, Yap, Weno, Fono, Uman, Tolowas, Faichuk, Fefin, Nomoluk, Ta, Satawan, Etal, Oniop, Pohnpei, Pingalap, Mokil, Pohnpei, Kosrae....
