  • how do you get it to eat those?

  • Got a smallmouth to take food sticks, but not a pike/pickererl. Do you starve them for a bit before you try the prepared food?

  • looooool

  • you should release it

  • @fishjnky NOOOOOO, introducing tropical fish diseases to temporate waters can be disasterous! Do not EVER release fish that have been kept in an aquarium.

  • pike is dangerous for goldfish

  • ihve kept many wild fish i found the bes t way to ensure survival is to feed them small amounts

  • @M0A0R0k00W0Y0L0D0E

Are you serious? Its in the bloody title.

  • hilarious how he feels the need to "stalk" the sticks. My grass pickerel stalk all live food, refuse to chase. Wondered if esox would still "stalk" when trained on prepared food.

  • haha thats cute!

  • little hunter ^^

  • @rtc292 They can learn that there is a barrier there and they wont hit it

  • i would get them stickleback they are small and easy to catch, just net through any clump of weed in a river and u will have a few.

  • AHHH thats awesome

  • i put a few pike in my tank a couple days ago and they wont eat the fish food or crayfish tail meat i put in that the bream like to eat...any help?

  • Depending on how big they are, try feeding them minnows or worms. Anything thats live and moving will get pikes attention.

  • the minnows we have are too big...no fish eat top dodgers and all we have is shiners(just as big as the pike), menhaden(bigger than their heads) mullet(just as big) ill try worms and hopefully the damn bream wont get to them first

  • feed them live food dependent on their size..

  • ima havta get some small earth worms i guess...those fuckin bream better not eat all of them haha

  • hmmm try....letting them go. lol jk, try earthworms, when the local lake flooded i caught some pike in my ditch and put them in a tank for a few days, they seemed to like earthworms alot.

  • they're eating fine now...i been catching tiny minnows in my dip net for them...i had a lot in the tank and i had a lot of bream but the 8-10in catfish ate em all except a few pike died of disease and just being worn out from attacks. i have 2 left and just put bream in and caught the catfish with a little hook (net was impossible the way the tanks set up) i should be getting more pike soon, i moved my minnow traps to a fresh ditch full of bream

  • how do you get northerns anyways?? no pet stores in my state sell them and i mean without catching them cause i cant catch small pike, its impossible to catch pike under 10ish inches

  • @pittibergh08 it may sound weird but look on ebay. the fish are costly but they have had large mouth, small mouth, flat head cat, bull head etc. I was looking for a large mouth but found a peacock bass at local shop.

  • its because they are scared and they need to get used to the tank. i got a bass and for 5 days he didnt eat. hes a chubby bass now haha. but where did you get pike? i wanna get them but cant catch small enough pike

  • @pittibergh08 yeah my catfish got fat by eating all the fuckin pike but after a while of starving the pike would smash minnows. saw one about 8in eat a 3in mullet and every now and then they would eat deli meat i dropped in for the amphiuma or catfish. i caught the pike in minnow traps in irrigation ditches

  • you could try looking around reef beds in the early spring maybe try and throw some worm pieces around it and see if some come up.. ..... my friend caught one that size on daredevil in the BWCA and we kept him for a week and let him go at the end of our trip..

  • @pittibergh08 its really easy to catch the baby pike! i caught one today. with the fish net. u have to catch it real slow then pull the net out water fast

  • just catch one

  • do you guys sell pike and musky? if not where can i get them these days. no one has them any more

  • i had a few chain pickrels and could not get them to eat anything but live feeders. they rather died then to eat anything else.

how did you get it to eat this?

  • Where can you buy a baby pike?

  • i´ve had a couple pikes in my tank, but never this kind.. heard they don´t survive more than 6 months?

  • only one kind of pike my friend.

  • I agree that a 120 is too small for this fish, though it could serve as a temporary home while still young

  • @anuwatBKK Would a 1,000 gallon tank work or a 2,000 gallon

  • where did you get them, i want one

  • Very nice fish, Im looking for one for my last new resident in my 120gallon tank

  • once they wer selling these at walmart not nowing what they wer.

  • when did monsterfishkeepers sell out to hikari?

  • wow! how did you get them to eat that...? i had a few chain pickrals(?spelling)different sizes from 1" - 16" and i couldn't get them to eat anything other then live fish...

  • should see the northern i caught in canada.

should throw a mouse in there.

  • haha i once had a pickeral but he got eaten by a largemouth that was the same size of him, then i once had a gar that got eaten by an rtc the same size as it! i have no luck =(

  • shooting style is wonderful!!

  • nice little pike! So awesome that he accepts sticks!! Keep that tank nice and cold with a strong lid and pretty soon youll have a beast!
