As a drummer I agree with Nicko. He is a lovely guy and the guy did only make a mistake, but he still should've known better. The worst thing you can do as a drummer is stop playing, and I'm sure Nicko fucking up because of this guy made him stop. The less known fact about this recording is the other side of the tape it was on was the demo ideas for Powerslave. When Nicko realizes its being recorded he ripped the tape out and nearly stomped on it... Bruce (who reignited the fight that was pretty much over by then) tackled Nicko and an actual fist fight almost broke out... (per the Powerslave tour notes)

At first I thought "What a dickhead McBrain was" but the more I thought about it... There is nothing worse than trying to focus on playing a solo and having someone come chirping in your ear. It will inevitably end in disaster. The roadie should have had more sense and maybe written something down on a sheet of paper, or just waited till McBrain had stopped and THEN told him.
