  • I believe folks should read "The Original Argument the Federalist Papers" which covers the national debate that ratified the US Constitution. Then you may realize what our founders did was create a level playing field for all. IMHO It will be the best $8 you will ever spend if you are truly concerned about the future of this nation. You have the right to pursue happiness in any way that you see fit, using your own mind and body. "Health care" requires you to obtain a good from another persons mind and body. You do not have the right to take from anybody else. Therefore health care is not a right but simply a good. You do not have the right to goods.

    Obviously when they spoke about "All men" they weren't talking about "Savages" or the indigenous peoples - or the slaves for that matter. This document support the rights of white men.

  • Anyone can find fault with another person. What is the value of that thinking? It misses the point of the document. Avoid endless arguments and focus on the timeless truths enumerated in this creed. If we simply return to these foundational principles, we can return America to its former glory.

  • @da4re I disagree, and so did Jefferson. Jefferson said our government would maintain its integrity so long as we were an agrarian society. Jefferson would HATE the urbanized cess pool we have devolved into, with walmarts and mcdonalds on every corner.

  • If a mans wife came to him and said...I dont love you anymore...I dont trust you..I dont want anything to do with you anymore. How can he ever have a happy marriage? Would he get his gun and point it at her and say "We are going to have a happy marriage no matter what you say!" It seems thaty NO ONE would be happy.   • The Southern States used this "Freedom" in 1861 and the United States Army and Navy came South and Murdered thousands of its people. This paper is worthless.

  • @meetman3 Actually, the South did not use that right. The rebels used the pretended right of the stronger to oppress the weaker, and sought to increase their power to oppress by driving out that part of the US government that limited their power to oppress.

  • @DonMeaker The Confederate States Goverment did not in any way oppress ANY peoples any more so than the Goverment of the United States did when they used this so called Declaration of Independence. How is it a "Pretended" right for thr Southern States in 1861 and a "God given right" against the British? I can see a VERY large Double Standard here!!

  • @meetman3 No double standard. Rebellion is treason, unless you win. The rebels didn't meet that standard. A major part of the reason the rebels lost was 1. 40 regiments of southern men who fought for the US against the oppressive southern state governments, and 2. the British would not support the slavers. The South drafted white men to oppress the black man, enslaving some to oppress others. What a shameful system!

  • @meetman3 no, the southern states declared war on the north and thus the north won a war with a country it not only believed was actually part of its own but against an aggressive neighbor who fired on its forts without provocation. Oh and the reason the south seceded was to protect the institution of slavery from what it believed was a government that would take that right away. Any thing you heard about states rights is BS, it was over the states rights to decide to allow slavery or not.
