  • Pure genius

  • Never a more brilliant declaration of 'what might have been' whilst watching someone you love make a huge mistake x

  • The first time I heard this, both my feet kept tapping ...then the rest of me joined the tapping ... LOL

(reminds of Rod's style and songs like 'You wear it well' )

  • Great song. First time I heard it I thought "finally a hit" for the Replacements as they break-up but oh well ..

  • "And you're still in love with nobody... and I used to be nobody".

More emotion in that one line than some bands manage in a whole album, just awesome.

  • I agree. Brilliant. Thoughtful. The combination of the lyrics, the acoustic guitar, the bass line, Slim Dunlap's solo and Westerberg's vocal delivery...well. I don't have enough good words in my vocabulary to describe it.

  • This is the one Replacements album I didn't listen to obsessively like SMFTTOTT, Hootenanny, LIB, Tim, PTMM. I hear this stuff and YouTube am I am floored by how good it is and it holds up. "Love nobody and I won't tell nobody, ya still in love with nobody, I used to be nobody, but not anymore." Brilliant. Time passes... been there, done that.

  • i was given 12 random cassetes for my old truck............ this is the only one i played in it for a whole year.......threw the rest out

  • I would love to get the title track to this album. "All shook down" I love that song.

  • I would love to get the title track to this album. "All shook down" I love that song.

  • As I'm watching this I see this video has 924 views. That's pathetic. This is a great band with songwriting ability far beyond any of the crap we have today.

  • "Memory isn't so good any more." Oh, yeah. I feel you there. :)

  • Yep. Good catch, I was lazy and didn't look it up to make sure. Memory isn't so good any more. 1990.

  • Wrong year. 1993 was when Westerberg's first solo album came out. This one came out in the fall of '90.

  • throw in another tape man

  • Can anyone tell what the the chords for this sog are I can't find them online anywhere. This is an Incredible album

  • @MrBuc128

It's in A maj. So the verse is A-D-E, with a G as the change, then G-F# before the chorus. Chorus is B-D and the bridge is G-F (the rising bit is then A#-C-D. It's a little tricky to explain, just play around with those until you get it.

  • lol, Yeah it should probably read 'ain't' nobody at the end. But he makes it work anyways.

  • Got that great hillbilly flavor .. well I didn't know I liked that sound but on this song it's compelling. Hip shake to the band for ole time sake .. to the end is just perfect ending. And I used to be nobody .. does it go "ain't nobody ..anymore" at the end?

  • All Time favorite...Thanks for posting.

  • @MichaelJOlender Good choice for an all-time fav.

  • @MichaelJOlender Yeah a great choice. I am always shock when someone's favorite song is close to being mine. My all time favs are The Replacements Unsatisfied, Neil Young's Powderfinger, and oh yeah the Replacements "johnnys gonn die" is great too.
