I would go to JoAnne Fabrics and purchase some wooden dowl handles and use them instead of makeing the handles leather like the skirt. That way it would be more durable and less tacky. Great idea though!
Heyyyy Giannyl. Firstly i really love your work, its easy and to the point.
I just wanted to request you to please help me with the sewing machine, I dont know how to set tension and stitch length for different materials. also please give some tips for beginners.
ummm, wat if you dont wear skirts? and i personally think this would be a waste because then you have to buy all new skirts douring that season when they are popular.
I love your videos Giannia... Can I ask you to do something for me? Can I get you to show me how to make a short sleeve cropped cardigain with flowers on it.... My mom has one and I love it... It would be great if you could do this for me... Thank you!!! :)
Gianny...... I have been watching all your videos and I am like :0 because my husband just bought me a sewing machine and I just learned by myself how to make pillow cases.... but when I saw your videos.......... you turned on my inner light bulb..... you are awesome indeed.... God bless you ...congrats..
How to make a layered dress hosted by my two ducks ! Please come see it, it's my first video and I really want to help people make their own clothes like GiannyL did to me ! Thanks in advance and hope you'll like it !
Thanks to ALL OF YOU for all the comments and suggestions.Your feedback whether is positive, negative, or neutral is very important because it helps me in many ways.I truly appreciate them.

I would have liked to see her sew the handles after folding the raw edges in instead of gluing. I also agree with what clazluvsdolphins said about squaring the bottom.
Yes, mad4mileygirl, you CAN use a tank top, but you would want to actually use TWO for strength. Sew them together at the hems and then just turn one right-side out and (if you want) sew the neck and armhole openings shut.
But this is a good jumping-off point for people to start with.
If you turn it inside out and sew diagonally across the corners, you square them off, giving it a better shape... but the straps can be whatever thickness you choose
What type of fabric was it? i think that it was diff. but thats y u posted it im sure? Y would we wana c what we already know how to make? give her a break pple !i!i!
its an old leather skirt one of my friends had,was kind of old fashion so I thought on turn it in something I would really use. Thanks for your comment :)
at first i thought it was gonna be a shirt lol. i like the idea but it should of been inside out for so it actually looks like a bag. and the straps should have been more on the outer part not so much in the middle.
I agree with you and I get your point, although this ideas are intended to help with recycling and reusing anything you have in the house spending just a little money or even nothing. Thanks for your comment,I appreciate it :)
@GiannyL Great idea. You can get these skirts in the thrift stores for 2.00 and make a great suede or leather bag. I have my granddaughter hooked on your videos too.
you can definetely use a tank top,but since this skirt is leather and a little old fashion I thought a bag would be the best way to take advantage of.Thanks for your comment :)
thought it was about to turn into a pretty pink top !

Done something like this before (:
But looks better if you turn the skirt kinda around so the seams will be down the side, not in the middle, so it will hang like a proper bag.

i think that your earlier work is better than the later ones...

Very cute... although I would only do this if I lived somewhere where either skirts were really cheap or tote bags are really expensive.
