onimusha 1 and 3 were the best ones in my opinion i love playing as samonoske hes awesome, i didt like jubei or soki too much, sam seems more bad ass, he seems like the true onimusha to me. plus i love using the raisan orb (thunder sword) and that 8 hit combo he does. jubei was ok with it but sam does it best

you need the the ultimate sword if you dont know where to find it you have to do the monster world battles speak with that spider guy and he´¨ll take you to them fight all the way down and after that you got a flute wich you play at the end of the game the staris play the flute and wola you got the wepon (only need it on hard at least i) (:

you need to get the xbox version. they added more enemies and there's also an ogre tower. armour upgrades have been changed from crappy recolours to completely new skins. you can also get the new "ONI" mode where if you suck in 5 green souls your invincible for a short period of time and your health regenerates over-time.

I think the wind sword is more powerful in onimusha 1 than it is in 2 and 3.

Thats why onimusha 1 is my favorite all because of the wind magic :)

Honestly the final boss in Onimusha 2 was a lot harder than this one. Also I think Jubei was a little bit of a better character than Samanoske (spelling sorry) just because they gave him a nice backstory and it felt to me like he played a bigger role.

well apparently the samonouske in the begining of the 3rd 1 came back at age 41 with his hair down and as soon as jaucse meets the samonouske who exactly looks like the 1st samonouske is just from the past and the real samonouske who got caught in the future was 24 in the 1st onimusha. heres the real thing: the samonouske in his normal 1 from the past and the samonouske in the intro of o3 is the future samonouske and the real samonouske from o1 got it?

whew, just finished the game today and yea, no analog support made me think about quitting the game more than a hundred times at least. Having to go to menu each time to switch weapons was a chore and the overall combat mechanic was pretty crappy. But it wasn't a completely bad game so I managed through it. Last boss was pretty fun with the ultimate sword actually. But now i know why this isn't talked about much in the gaming community.

well, some games hit that classic status, you know and are always talked about regardless of time period. Devil May Cry and Silent Hill still pop up. Jak and Daxter still pops up and that's only about 6 months younger than Onimusha. Timesplitters is still talked about in various forums and that game is older than Onimusha. But in almost all forums, I ask about Onimusha and I don't get much of a response other than, "oh yea, that's what they first tried to do with re4..."

I loved this game back when it was first released, and the second and third installments were awesome as well.

The RE'esque clunky controls were annoying, but you got used to them. Onimusha 3 finally utilized analog controls and it made a huge difference!

I'd have to say my biggest complaint is the English dubbing, which unfortunately seemed to be a trademark in the series. -_- You just couldn't take the bosses seriously, and the second and third games lack a Japanese audio option.

The controls are what I call "compensation difficulty". Whenever the developers can't make any sort of REAL difficulty, they'll invent it. Shitty controls, nerfing a character, (like giving them large pauses inbetween attacks, leaving them open for enemy retaliation) or just making enemies godlike.

Capcom loves doing it.

Final sword is Bishimon sword, and im super upset that you only get to use it against this dude... all that work in the evil realm, to use it on 1 boss, and a constantly spawning reynaldo. But yeah the controls were a lil' crap, but if you get used to em and use the R2 ( lock on target button? ) its much easier.
