@onlyone23km Actually I am a big fan of Batman Forever, but Batman and Robin was terrible sorry. Joel Schumacher admitted he tried to make B and R more campy than Forever. Chris O'Donnell said making Batman Forever felt like a movie, while Batman and Robin felt like making a kid's commercial. Schumacher would say between scenes "We're making a cartoon." Schumacher said he wanted to pay tribute to the campiness of the 60s TV show.
@Bullsfan2008DR the reason why I like batman & robin better is because the enormous sets, the imagination they used, the costumes for all characters (especially the redbird suit representing nightwing's coming), and batgirl was one sexy woman despite not being a gordon, and the vehicles were awesome, and sfx were off the hook! the script does need work, i'll admit to that. I think joel was too hard on himself, and I feel bad that chris went through all that.
I thought that movie good...when I was a child. It's the magic of childhood, when you're 7 years, you don't realise how terrible a movie like this can be.
The real problem with this movie is that it shouldt exist. Batman was a great start for batman , batman returns showed more about batman and who he is , batman forever toped it off with a great theme of duality. It shoudl have ended there. The theme of this movie is trusting your partner , but it was a lame theme because it made robin into a sterotypical overeagger colledge kid that no one wants to see on film. Also ivy and freeze shoudlnt have been in the moive , not to mention bane.
1. Don't have the Bat ass shots. Batman isn't sapposed to be funny
2. Read the dialoge, like seriously all good actors they should of said something.
3. Fuck Warner Bros. Batman didn't need to be brighter.
4. Give Bane a personallity not frankenstien!
5. No Puns!
With all the things I have said, this movie could be good. Every filmaker that wants to make a superhero movie should learn from Batman & Robin's mistakes.
I've been a huge Batman fan all my life the comics, the Adam West TV series, the two TIm Burton movies, and finally the brilliant animated series cemented my love of the character.
I remember seeing this trailer on "Mars Attacks" and being terrified at how terrible it looked. then I saw the actual film, and it was WORSE than I expected! Whew! Thank god Christopher Nolan got this series back on track!
@emilcorday Excuse me!. You need to know that Batman & Robin is never a terrible movie. It's actully pretty good and you need to learn that!... you and your monkey!.
@thegamerman7 no he didnt, but I wish Nolan can introduce him to, in this last movie, since Bane is breaking Batmans back and hes going to be out of play for a while
You know, I was young when this came out so I look at the films with hindsight rather than foresight like the fans who got to see all of the films in theaters had. Had I been one of them, I probably would have been as upset as them. As a kid I watched this and Forever a lot, and was taught by my mother to hate the Burton films. Later in life I finally watched the Burton films and I can say without the shadow of a doubt that they are superior to the Schumacher films.
That being said, I said earlier that I pretty much got into these movies on neutral ground without getting myself excited for a darker or lighter Batman. The original films are interesting to look at analytically at how each following film had a drastic tonal difference than the one before. One of the producers mentioned how each film was like a different era of batman
The Burton films are great, and much better than nowadays given credit for. I love them equally to the Nolan films and more than Schumacher's.
Forever to me is highly underrated. It is not as good as either the Burton or Nolan films, but is better than the film that followed. It had enough dark and serious elements to be a legit film. The only criticism I kind of understand is against the portrayal of Two-Face, but I just couldn't help but find it enjoyable.
And then we have this one, Batman & Robin. It's cheesy, campy, pun filled, and brightly lit. But you know what as a campy kids film that acts as a throwback to the Batman of the 60's I find it really enjoyable in a similar manner to the Adam West TV show. Plus it has a lot of nostalgia for me.
Now do I wish I could've seen more films from Burton, definitely. But do I still have a load of fun with Schumacher's, yes.
"Can't do it alone" Christ! Sounds like they snuck a viagra commercial in this overbudget toy commercial (Chris O'Donell said that's what the film felt like)
Actually I loved this film. Yes, Clooney wasn't great but it's Clooney. Chris O'Donnell was great. Alicia Silverstone was cute and hot as hell. It was great to see how she kicks Uma Thurman's ass. Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze wasn't that bad.
Having recognized the camp here I felt that too much of it wasn't good for the film franchise so "Batman & Robin" is MY LEAST favorite in the series. And so do the rubber nipples: it made "Batman" look more like a homoerotic film.
Thank goodness for Christopher Nolan for rebooting the series. Dark is good, camp is not.
HAHAHA!! Most gay line in the whole movie is at 0:41 "No shit?!?!? That clears up a lot of shit!!! Cause I thought there was another caped douchebag running around the city in a car that looks like a penis with wings!" The batmobile was kick ass until this movie. Just like everything else. Thanks to Christopher Nolan for redeeming the persona of the Dark Knight.
You all know what the biggest complaint of all about this movie was, "Where was George Clooney's part?". Hell my brother was telling me that he admitted on an interview with Howard Stern, "I did something no criminal on earth could do, I killed Batman.".
No. It's a poorly made evil toy commercial come from the depths of Hell to drag us all back there!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE'RE DOOMED! DDDDDDDDDDOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL I think they covered all of Arnie's "dialogue" i that trailer its Puntastic..ally pathetic this movie sucked balls but without it we wouldnt have BB and TDK.
From 1 to 20, Batman (1989): 18 pts, Batman Returns: 16 pts, Batman Forever: 12 pts, Batman and Robin: 06 pts. Batman Begins 17 pts, The Dark Night: 20 pts
Hahaha this is the weirdest movie ever.. it's like watching a cartoon movie but with real actors.. seriously it feels like when I was little and watched foxkids..;P
They had the right villians, the right Robin. But Batgirl was too soon and wrong guy to play Batman. Plus the story lines where WAY too rushed, with little creative

o'donnell as robin inspired me to become an actor. if it wasn't for him, i wouldn't get As in my report card and do something else besides drama! this is a little onlyone23km history lesson by the way. the movie and video game for psx was awesome!
this movie sucked donkey balls- its very true, but u've gotta admit, that mister freeze suit is damn cool, and that poison ivy costume at the party thing is kick ass.
This movie was such a major disappointment. It really sucked and disgraced the whole genre by making Batman have nipples. Thank-god for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight as they have given new respect and credence to this franchise. But yeah it blew that whole sequel with Batman and Robin. I doubt well see a Batman movie with Robin for a while since this fuck-up.
The irony is that this movie was supposed to be a commercial approach to Batman, less artsy and more lucrative. And it bombed. And Dark Knight, which is very artsy, is #2 of all time.
This movie sucks. George Clooney was a horrible Batman, the whole Mr. Freeze concept sucked. Robin's lines were lame, and it's just freaky to think that the guy in the Freeze costume is a freaking governor.
I saw this movie when I was 5 and I actually LIKED it, but now, 11 years later, I'm old enough to realize just how much of a waste of time, energy, money and talent this goddamn film(if you can call it that) really is. Christopher Nolan saved the day!
An age old question, and I might have the answer! I think they wanted to represent all their muscles without exposing anything innapropriate. It's legal to show a male human half-naked, but not a female human.
Arnold was perfect to play Mr. Freeze. We all liked him as the Terminator and in Predator. He was perfectly casted. It's the dialogue that made him stupid in this film, but that's not his fault. It's the writer's fault Akiva Goldsman.
Actually, there were some words Arnie said that just sounded wrong, like "Stay cool, BURDBOI." I don't know what went wrong, but this was definitely Arnie's worst film.
i remember wen i was 6 i saw this in theaters i thought this was great nd said i cant wait for the next movie nd later on saying y wont they make another batman movie i see this movie again when im 14(im 17 by the end of the week)i said wow i can see y it took so long to make another movie they dont wanna fuck up another movie like dis b/c plain and spimple THIS MOVIE WAS A PIECE OF SHYT
Yup, but if he is ever going to run around side-by-side with batman, he should have a less campy looking suit as he had in all previous movie versions.
I don't know. I liked Batman and Batman returns. Then Gotham started going neon and Forever and Batman And Robin sucked. Begins and The Dark Knight are also cool. It's just the difference between 90's Batman and 2000's Batman. I bet in 20 or so more years they'll do another batman movie and it will be different too.
when i was 5 i loved this film i used to dress up as batman my lil bro used to be robin then we would watch batman then i grew up and watched this wif a friend before begins came out and it was th shitteist thing ever so i missed out begins but got it on a sale at currys they were doin th game and batman for half price then i watched dark knight and i was fukin blowing away i rely miss heath now cuase they cant keep joker away forever so lets hope we can find someone else who can be th joker
movies like this made me skeptical about watching batman begins. i thought it was going to be one of those shroom or acid themed movies. hell i didnt even watch batman begins till it was showing on tnt or tbs, to my surprise i loved it, and the dark knight even more.
ye exactly the same i didnt see begins in cinema either i went in to currys and they were doing buy batman begin dvd and get th game half price so i did tht and then i watched movie kiked th games ass and waited for drak knight wich was fucking amense
i would love to see freeze in the third new batman movie he at least desirve's to be fixed after arnold fucked him up he needs to be played by someone who can.....act i like arnold but he cant get deep not as deep as freeze needs to be played freeze is my fav bat villian aside from joker.
of course we all think this film is bad, but at the time we all loved it! it's due to modern technology that films are x10 better than they were 10 years ago, and we are so used to all the stunts being very well done now that we realise that the old films don't compare on a modern level.
any way that's your opinion, i think all the old batman movies suck compared to the new ones. My main point was that i hope robin isn't in the new batman movies.
Uma Thurma best in Kill Bill. Arnold Schwarzenegger best in terminator. I'm not really that much into politcs but he must be a better govenor than a better iceman. He sucked at Mr.Freeze
No your not the only one. to tell you the truth as a kid I used to love this movie. The first batman movie I saw was batman forever followed by this one. Now that I've seen all the other Batman movies they're all much much better. And I've grown to hate all the movies with robin in it( Batman Forever, Batman and Robin). The Dark Knight(best bat film) is much much better than this movie. and Robin is a dick. Christian Bale should kick George Clooney's ass.
As Arnold was saying the line, "Let's kick some ice!", he was probably thinking, 'What the fuck am I doing here? Well at least I've still got the Terminator under my belt."
i hated this movie i dont know anyone who liked it arnold wasnt a good idea for freeze i love most of arnies movies but this on was just ass the first 3 were good but this one was ass it was almost like a comedy they couldnt continue this series it was no option they had to re boot batman it really was no option
fuck this shit

I totally disagree.
Robin needs to be played as a CHILD you know? BOY wonder not MAN wonder.
Batgirl needs to be played as a superhero in her own right. Not as Alfred's niece who lives with Bruce and acts as a female Robin.
The character was written to be a strong female counterpart to Batman who handles her own group of villains and has her own way of protecting Gotham.
And Freeze was VERY poorly done. He is written as a dry, intellectual creepy killer not Arnold S. spewing out ban puns

Thank-god for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight as they have given new respect and credence to this franchise. But yeah it blew that whole sequel with Batman and Robin. I doubt well see a Batman movie with Robin for a while since this fuck-up.
Shutitup18 3 years ago
The irony is that this movie was supposed to be a commercial approach to Batman, less artsy and more lucrative. And it bombed. And Dark Knight, which is very artsy, is #2 of all time.

hahahahahaha 00:41 hilarious.
hahaha i wished i had never grown up otherwise i woulda always loved this movie as i did way back when.

How come I got the feeling that people knew this movie would suck just by watching this trailer? :(
BulletShootingGuys 3 years ago
This movie sucks. George Clooney was a horrible Batman, the whole Mr. Freeze concept sucked. Robin's lines were lame, and it's just freaky to think that the guy in the Freeze costume is a freaking governor.

I saw this movie when I was 5 and I actually LIKED it, but now, 11 years later, I'm old enough to realize just how much of a waste of time, energy, money and talent this goddamn film(if you can call it that) really is. Christopher Nolan saved the day!

I actually left wanting another movie because I was unsatisfied.
PersonalJesus348 3 years ago
how come batman and robin have nipples but batgirl doesnt?
ADMBP 3 years ago 2
An age old question, and I might have the answer! I think they wanted to represent all their muscles without exposing anything innapropriate. It's legal to show a male human half-naked, but not a female human.
But I have no idea why they showed the bat-ass.
ElThemeParker 3 years ago
Arnold was perfect to play Mr. Freeze. We all liked him as the Terminator and in Predator. He was perfectly casted. It's the dialogue that made him stupid in this film, but that's not his fault. It's the writer's fault Akiva Goldsman.
Aaronjs2468 3 years ago
Actually, there were some words Arnie said that just sounded wrong, like "Stay cool, BURDBOI." I don't know what went wrong, but this was definitely Arnie's worst film.

to think this movie was geared for toys...
...TOYS THAT DIDN'T EVEN LOOK THAT GOOD...
StingerSplash007 3 years ago
Maybe the tagline should've been: 'Don't watch this movie... it stinks!', but no because that would be facist really.

so was this the fourth batman movie since michael keaton played him in batman and batman returns, then val kilmur in batman forever then this?

the villians name goes before batman in nearly every film yeah i know its gay
matzaman312 3 years ago
well in the Original batman (Not the Adam west one, the Keaton/Nicholson one) the Joker had a bigger fricken part than batman
Cedritech 3 years ago
At that time Schawrtzeneger was the bigger n ame. George Clooney was known more for E.R. whereas Arnold was still a guarenteed box office champ.

HelloFade2 3 years ago
of course we all think this film is bad, but at the time we all loved it! it's due to modern technology that films are x10 better than they were 10 years ago, and we are so used to all the stunts being very well done now that we realise that the old films don't compare on a modern level.
NicolaMeecooox 3 years ago
the old batman movies sucked so bad
and i hope to god that robin is not in the new movies

Dumbass, what bout Batman(1989) or Batman Returns?(1992)
Those were both good cause of Burton and Keaton.
kh2nerd806 3 years ago
"dumbass" are you 11 years old or something?
any way that's your opinion, i think all the old batman movies suck compared to the new ones. My main point was that i hope robin isn't in the new batman movies.

Uma Thurma best in Kill Bill. Arnold Schwarzenegger best in terminator. I'm not really that much into politcs but he must be a better govenor than a better iceman. He sucked at Mr.Freeze

I love this movie. I guess I am the only one.
NaleyandLeyton 3 years ago
No your not the only one. to tell you the truth as a kid I used to love this movie. The first batman movie I saw was batman forever followed by this one. Now that I've seen all the other Batman movies they're all much much better. And I've grown to hate all the movies with robin in it( Batman Forever, Batman and Robin). The Dark Knight(best bat film) is much much better than this movie. and Robin is a dick. Christian Bale should kick George Clooney's ass.
1966Zodiac 3 years ago 2
As Arnold was saying the line, "Let's kick some ice!", he was probably thinking, 'What the fuck am I doing here? Well at least I've still got the Terminator under my belt."
