actually I don't think Palin is a mistake. I think there are some decent arguments for her. An intriguing one I heard on CNN was that she is the next generation getting that "on the job training" without the responsibility of the Presidency. But seeing as how Democrats are cool with "on the job training" for their candidate I really don't see an argument against Palin lacking experience to be "a heart-beat away."
John Adams though the VP was the most useless position as well.
I am happy for you that you can have serenity and peace of mind knowing that your party has chosen the best, most qualified person to take over Presidency in case of a tragedy. Experience? She has been the governor for 20 months of a state with a huge budget surplus and an economic climate entirely different than the rest of the country. Before that she was the mayor of a town of 7,000. Obama has been a U.S. Senator from a densely-populated powerful state for 4 YEARS!And before that he had been working with hundreds of thousands of people on important social programs in a MAJOR U.S. city. Obama is a Senator from one of the most populated states in the nation. He governs people. Chicago alone has at least 5x as many people as the entire state of Alaska. Palin was mayor of a town with fewer than 10K people. There are droms at the University of Texas that house more people than that. Actually Obama does write his own speeches and has been known to stay up late into the night at hotel rooms doing so. He has advisors look over his notes, but what you hear is his vision, not someone else's. Try to do a little research next time before spitting vitriol for it's own sake. Also, not paying attention? There is a reason there are 3 branches of government. I believe that Obama will respect the legislative branch and the judicial branch when making his choices instead of just writing an executive order every 5 minutes or doing 'recess' appointments instead of going with the way the government is supposed to be run.

Actually, looking at the polls and the ground Obama has lost over the last 3 weeks, I don't think I will have to worry about Obama sticking up for anyone. I don't want a man who sits in an America hating church pretending he likes this country. 6 months from now he will be back in there making donations like he was before.

actually I don't think Palin is a mistake. I think there are some decent arguments for her. An intriguing one I heard on CNN was that she is the next generation getting that "on the job training" without the responsibility of the Presidency. But seeing as how Democrats are cool with "on the job training" for their candidate I really don't see an argument against Palin lacking experience to be "a heart-beat away."
John Adams though the VP was the most useless position as well.

I am happy for you that you can have serenity and peace of mind knowing that your party has chosen the best, most qualified person to take over Presidency in case of a tragedy. I certainly don't want to get into a useless mudslinging contest but there are a lot of us out there who have our doubts, Noonan and Murphy included. For them to say one thing on-air and another off is wrong
And maybe John Adams should ask Lyndon B. Johnson and Gerald Ford just how useless the VP position really is.

I personally don't think that Palin will have to be the person to step into that seat. McCain's mom (the 'ol battle axe) hasn't even rolled over yet. But I think that Palin will hold down to fort.
I just think that if you are worried about a first term governor taking over the presidency, I think that it's a legitimate issue to actually elect a president in his first term as Senator.
