Yeah right! When it is appropriate to drive the shoulder - like on Sexton or Ashland - not on a very short grade like Roberts Mountain. And you never ever pass on the shoulder or run on the shoulder downhill at 65 mph!

I know that many people drive on the shoulder, but it is illegal in Oregon unless posted (this is what I was told by the Oregon State Police).

It isn't illegal according to the DOT officers at the northbound Ashland scales. You can drive on the shoulder if you're going slower than the flow of traffic and you won't get a ticket, but if you should hit someone or cause an accident, then you're responsible. I sure wouldn't want to take the chance of doing that.

Enforcement is a joke in every country across the planet. I this kind of shit everyday. I key is to not let this get to you and effect your driving.
