You don't understand what it actually means. 1. means that those who follow Him(becoming a Christian) would suffer a lot from many sides, e.g. from parents, siblings, friends, relatives, government, and so on. In Malaysia, Muslims that want to turn to Christ are threatened to not have anything from their parents after they passed away, or even have their children taken away from them.
