Thank you for posting this. It made me so sad though. The Chassidic way of life was all but destroyed during that dark time. Not to over romanticise a way of life that was very hard, but the manner of its passing is unforgiveable.

@bagnowka7 I got hold of a jurnal of a german artilery officer who must of been stationed near one of the polish ghetos. there were 3 photos of hasidic jews in the 12 photos in the jurnal. onw was a long line of Jewish youths & children queing up to be fed at a german field kitchen (a strange photo) there were two of a hasidic couple stood in a snowey street with a german dog handler behind them. I sold it to a collector of nazi ephemera before copying the photos :(
