I went to Europe 14 yrs ago with Aeroflot II-62 via Moscow ,let me tell you the II-62 is an experience the power those engines generate is enormous and the sound is adrenaline pumping.I was lucky to experience such a plane . I love them
I know. I should maybe not have used the word crashed, but the forward part of the the airplane was completely destroyed and 17 people died in this accident.
@EirikEirik1 It didn't crash. It was landed far too quickly on a short runway at Mashhad and overran into a concrete barrier. The crew were supposed to stay in a holding pattern but for some reason they made the landing attempt with insufficient runway (they were also landing at far too high a speed). This was the first fatal incident involving an IL-62 since 1989. This plane had previously flown for airlines in Russia, Uzbekistan and East Germany

.. and you could not, even if you paid 2 million; it crashed 3 months later.

I would not take the risk to fly with this aircraft even if i would be paid a million bucks!
