  • Wtf there's no audio.

  • I'm pretty sure that guy is my grandpa or uncle or something...Filipino pride!!

  • manna po master knife man always wins however in escrima they teach you blade sensitivity and knife control unlike most other martial arts!!!

  • Knife V Fist... Hmmmmmmm any clever martial arts practioner would tell you that you cant beat a knife,,,,,,,,,,You'd be crazy to try and take on a knife

  • @ozzie4uk you can beat a knife.....if you have the skill, reflexes as a practitioner

  • @ozzie4uk -> its a not question whether your crazy or not. Its a question of what will you do and what do you know when you are confronted with an attacker with a knife? Without any skills such a taught here you will still try to defend yourself. Ergo its better to know how to do it properly than trying to defend yourself with just pure instinct.

The daughter of GM Tortal was assaulted with a knife she is still alive to tell the story. No doubt because of this knowledge.

  • Best techniques I have ever seen in my life.

  • That's why Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan died in the

    Battle of Mactan

    Because of this art

guns and cannons VS knife and sticks

  • @ARTBUS1 Actually... Ferdinand Magellan died in the Battle of Mactan because he made a serious TACTICAL ERROR - He and 49 of his conquistadors decided they will fight on the beach while wearing plate armor and use muskets that are pretty much useless when the gunpowder got wet... againts hundreds of charging native warriors who are clearly familiar with the terrain 'cause it's their home turf.

  • @s3ksee - Correct. They had a misplaced confidence on their weapons and skills thats why they thought they can overcome Lapu Lapu and his men. They also made a mistake on underestimating the fighting skills of Lapu lapu and his men. The Datu of Cebu offered his men on the service of Magellan but was refused.

  • Much respect to Grandmaster Tortal, As part of our culture I would show him my respects by a simple gesture 'Mano Po"

  • Mine too....

  • Great! Thats my teacher GM Nene Tortal
