I can only speak for my area in Southern CA, if you bought real estate at the end of 2007 - 2008 like I have, you would have made $ by several folds!!! you put 10% down payment, even if the prices go up by 20%, you have doubled your $!!!) I meant to show how ridiculous realtors sounded in light of what really happened. Housing dropped dramatically after Oct. 2007. Some people missed the sarcasm.
So if you bought a house from RE/MAX after October 15th, 2007 and it doesn't appreciate 7 years from now, do they owe you the difference? Interesting... It seems like they are opening up themselves for lawsuits.
