The lap steel and the trombone player are excellent! I love the horn section parts too, reminds me of some really tripped out dub where the horns are dripping with reverb and echo. It evokes a similar feeling! Heavy but uplifting!
Anyone know which album (or albums) this song appears on?
The camera should have been much more on Greg Leisz especially from 3:23 to 4:10 during his solo. He's a great lap steel player and virtually ignored by this camera crew.
These guys are like... all there is to it, when they are playing this stuff. There is nothing cooler happening in the human universe when they are blowing like this. What Frisell is festuning around the edges of Fowlkes cammand lines until he kicks into that creamy lead tone is just off the scale cool.
Bill Frisell!! Amazing !! ビルにしてはブルージーなジャズ奏でてますが,彼は決して出しゃばらず,寡黙的理知的演奏に徹してます。それにしても渋い演奏だ!!
Thank for uploading this !!

@awesomewelles90 There'a a nice version on album that Bill Frisell made with Dave Holland and Elvin Jones. But this one is very different.

Nice, I dig the addition of the trombone. That said this tune greatly benefited by the playing of Elvin my he rest in peace, he was it.

It's too bad Elvin Jones couldn't be around for this performance. But Matt Chamberlain does a great job here.

Indeed, I'm a big Matt Chamberlain fan also, there is just no mistaking Elvin. I love the addition of the trombone, nice stuff.
