The movie was VERY realistic, but I couldn't believe that Peter Jackson, creator of King Kong and The Lord of the Rings trilogy could create such a cruel, but realistic movie. I watched it 2 days ago. So, the human turned into an alien. The only alien scientist and its son were clever. Alien workers couldn't even properly talk with humans, so they got shot. My opinion is that the aliens were good. The human was a bit of loser at the beginning. Haha, dramatic as always. Well done Peter Jackson.

@Danteeee3 Peter Jacksons' early films, Bad taste and brain dead were extremely girtty and violent, which later inspired the detailed production design of LOTR and district 9, I agree with what you said but it always gets me when Peter often gets the full credit for a film which he did not direct nor wrote. Neil Blokamp is the one who should really be congratulated for the success of this film.

@YungReach Yeah, when he was young, he shot movies with a camera and his primary objective was to make a King Kong movie himself. Well, the situation got complicated and Peter started to create different movies (black humor comedies, horror films). Well, all those movies headed towards one and after LOTR trilogy, King Kong remake came out on 2005. His movies are awesome and Neil really should be congratulated.

I wish i cared how much the movie cost to make. But that is completley besides the point, its NOT a GOOD movie!!! i could spend 40 mil on a movie and still it would be bad and mediocre...the price it takes to make a movie does not determine whether it is good or bad, it only makes the movie expensive, you have to break down the entire structure of a movie, to deem it good or bad, and expensive movies are not always good, and a prime example, District 9.

That scrap metal that falls from the ship, isnt scrap metal, its a ship, the main aliens house, is the ship, the main dude turns into an alien, itll seem like he dies but he doesnt he turns into a full pron and gives his wife a present later on after the movie ends, he helps the main alien and his son escape using the metal suite, the main alien and his son escape, the ship leaves and leaves behind all the prons on the planet and eventually they die off. everything returns back to normal. PWNED.
