This band is purely amazing live. They sound close enough to the studio version that I can't tell the difference. That is sheer talenk. Mikael Stanne's voice sounds great live.

Saw them yesterday. They put on an awesome show, they're very energetic and Mikael has an excellent interaction with the crowd. What struck me the most was that even after all these years they seem to really enjoy what they're doing, Mikael even laughed out loud at times and seemed really excited to play.

Take that genuine love for their job and combine it with 18 years of experience and you've got a very good live band. (His voice seemed fine btw.)

yeah their show is great live...

they are not the BEST SOUNDING band live(like maybe Opeth which sounds exactly like their cds live) but they do still sound GOOD and their energy is just fantastic. I was swept away by their live show.

Damage Done is my fav DT album.

These guys are the best there is when it come to melodic metal.

And yes, some of these recordings and the DVD don't do them justice. I can easily that the DT concert was one of the best in my life.

I wish that DT would come back to tour Australia.

I saw them 4 days ago and i can say very sure that even the DVD Live Damage do not sound as powerfull as they did last thursday. The drums on the dvd are poorly mixed and in this one wtf Mikael... i was mindblowed by his voice live in the show i saw...

The only reason their performance looked empty is because whoever edidted it took out the sounds of the audiance so you could hear the music better. dude moves like a fuckin rabbit though, you know that's hard to pull without losing your breath while singing or screaming. He's pretty B.A in my opinion.

You can't be serious. I caught them live with Soilwork and Hypocrisy, and they were awesome that night. I don't know if you're judging them off of youtube videos or what, but obviously you haven't seen them live. I'm not sure why you think the singer is gay. I met the band after the show, and none of them came off as gay to me.

These guys are a great band, not necessarily comprised of the greatest musicians, but they make good music and produce it well. However their live performance is empty, they have no energy and don't know how to work the crowd. That dude has to be gay, it's all good, just not suitable for commanding stage presence. Dark Tranquility is better heard not seen.

The vocalist doesn't suck altogether. He's just another in a long line of vocalist's who can't pull off live what they do in the studio. Same old story, no different than most vocalist with this style. Still, the guy is fucking incredible in the studio, lyrically and vocally. 'Nuff said. Metal UP!
