I aged out of BD (Blue Devils) in 88. Even though SCV did a good job with Phantom of the Opera, I guess seeing it two years in a row from them just gave me my fill. Then... high schools all over the country began to perform this same show. Saw it for another ten years! LOL! Dont get me wrong, its a good program. I just got bored with the whole Phantom of the Opera thing. I hope I didnt offend anyone from any H.S. or any of my SCV brothers.
@Rockstar, You should check out the Santa Clara Vanguard drum and bugle corps shows from 1988/89 then talk. You have no idea about drum corps, so I won't bother explaining it, but as a former corps member, I can tell you the show was way more exciting than th Lloyd Webber version. It's called being exposed to new things. So was the crowd. So if you're so "sophisticated" that you're offended by kids learning about music, why would you use the word fucktard? It think it is just well established that JessOnTheRun is just the worst kind of person you can meet and is an overall insult to all marching bands everywhere for even letting him march in any drum corps let alone DCI. I've seen a lot of trolls but he is perhaps the worst of the worst.
i dont like marching bands. If u are amateur and you start playing at that orchestra at young playing age your sound will get worse and probably there is no quality of the orchestra when it has young players. And BTW. everybody has made a mistake if their on the colorguard. i dropped the last toss in our show last friday. though ive never seen anybody run into each other, everybody has made some kind of mistake.

@Celestialdome it happens. i spraigned my wrist two weeks ago and still dont know how i did it because i didnt fall. why were u trying to spin an unweighted pole? thats just crazy cuz it doesnt work out very well.
@southerngal3355 well that's what happens when you take half the band and make them guard members for the ending set. I play flute/picc, and because our band is cheap. The poles didn't have a flag on them, so weighting them wasn't a top priority.

@southerngal3355 Ha ha, we weren't told that we were doing it untill they handed us silver poles and said, "twirl" the woodwinds were orginialy supposed to all have drums but 5 of us got put on poles, we call ourselves the "pseudo-brass". I lost my endcap, and so right now I have a end cap that doesn't fit and i'm never in tune. (FML) But that's the picc's job, to be so annoying you can't help but hear it.

That's actually a pretty neat show they have set up there....but the tone quality wasn't that good, and the saxophone tuning was awful...totally ruined "Think of me"

What I was referencing was not a fall in our corps, it's that we marched in our high school band and there are falls sometimes in practice, but no one cares, as long as they get up. I'm just saying that I have experience and I know what's important in a show.

That must've been embarrassing, but i've almost done the same thing. This actually excites me because our theme this year is Rap City in Blue. Based off the song by Gershwin, Rhapsody in Blue, with added rap music. Look it up in a few months on YouTube by the Clovis High School band and color guard.

i wouldn't cal that an EPIC fail. they were not too bad for a high school band, and i'm pretty sure i saw contras instead of sousaphones. it allways does my heart good to see contras in a marching band.
I think it was the girl falling at about 1:14... But seeming as they're screaming frantically and bumping into each other because of the appearance of the red-caped guy, tripping over your own feet isn't much of a blooper. It looks like part of the show.
YOU ARE SPOT ON! i was part of a marching band [15 years ago] and we had only 40 some odd people in it...we ended up taking 10th overall in the state that year [1995]...small bands have to work hard for the sound, especially when competing with sounds from a 200+ member band.....this band brought back good memories and they delivered great sound from such a small band!

besides, when in color guard, you sometimes fall ask one of my seniors she fell and she just got up and kept going

What I was referencing was not a fall in our corps, it's that we marched in our high school band and there are falls sometimes in practice, but no one cares, as long as they get up. I'm just saying that I have experience and I know what's important in a show.

English 3. English people are from England. I speak English. You do not capitalize "english" when typing in a general sense unless you are talking about a luanguage, a specific subject, or a people. I must take history and Algebra 2. "You're" is you are. "Your" is showing possesion. Context clues don't apply to capitalization. You were talking about english in a general sense. You do not capitalize the word. You cannot capitalize a specific subject unless you are naming a specific course.

That must've been embarrassing, but i've almost done the same thing. This actually excites me because our theme this year is Rap City in Blue. Based off the song by Gershwin, Rhapsody in Blue, with added rap music. Look it up in a few months on YouTube by the Clovis High School band and color guard.
This seems like an awesome performance though!! :D

YOU ARE SPOT ON! i was part of a marching band [15 years ago] and we had only 40 some odd people in it...we ended up taking 10th overall in the state that year [1995]...small bands have to work hard for the sound, especially when competing with sounds from a 200+ member band.....this band brought back good memories and they delivered great sound from such a small band!
