  • Isso já nem mais tocar acordeom. Isso é ter orgasmo com o acordeom. Impossível não delirar vendo essa mulher tocar...

  • WOWOWOWOWWOWWOWWOW!

  • One more great coup of tvcollector!

It was you, who made me aquainted with this grand lady! When she plays it looks so easy! I hope you can upload some more of those unique clips!

Thank you so much for collecting and sharing!

    Froehliche Gruesse aus Tirol

    ;-)

  • BOSS!

  • she is such a doll face

  • oh my god, i wish i was around back then. her and i could've done accordion duets together. she's gorgeous!!!

  • Quantos anos essa senhorita tem hoje?

  • misericordia, vai toca la na inglaterra!!

  • WOW! What a talent!!!

  • She was this amazing in her teens/twenties.. I simply cannot believe it. She blows my mind every time I hear or see her perform. Ugh, why did I have to be born in the mid-80's?

  • The reason why she is crying is the following: she was underage when she was performing in Vegas, with her mother posing as her older sister. When she started performing on Welk, she was not quite 18, if I remember correctly. She desperately wanted a full time gig with Welk, but couldn't admit her real age. Her fear, when the birthday cake came out, is that if she did not get the gig with Welk, him announcing her age wold blow the cover. The tears were out of fear, then joy.

  • COOL!

  • Toca muito.

  • Absolutely amazing! What talent.!

  • As an accordion player for years, I really have to compliment Miss Castle - this piece would be no easy accomplishment!

  • Now THAT is a WOMAN!!!!

  • love Love LOVE her!!!

  • Watch Jo Ann on her first appearance, The World is Waiting for Sunrise, then her second, Get Happy, then this one, Hejre Katy. There is a sexy edginess, mixed with fun and innocence. Think of Ann Margaret in her sex kitten days. She (Jo Ann) definitely benefited from her time in Vegas. It is almost a shame that, when she went full time on Welk, she became "white bread and mayonnaise"; I suspect Welk was responsible for the change. Shame, but even so, she sure could play a whorehouse piano.

  • shes amazing i could watch her all day just to admire her smile

  • SUPER !!! 5*****

  • you go myron, I wouldnt mind strapping an accordion on her, either!!!!!!

  • Jo Ann is wonderful. She talented and has such a stage presence/charisma.

I met her in 1991...very warm and accommodating.

  • cool video.

  • She was just adorable. Times sure have changed, i.e., no agents, no negotiating, just Welk saying, "We've decided to make you a part of our show's family."

  • Awesome!

  • "Myron, let's not overdo it." That cracks me up!

  • I grew up watching her and the show,,it was on in our home without fail, every saturday nite,,this is the finest entertainment of any kind...whats happened to todays music,,and no this isnt me just getting old,,it is a matter of taste and true apprecitation for amazing talents

  • I could not have said it better. I really miss the Lawrence Welk show. And yes it is me getting older. As far as I'm concerned, there's no talent like the past. People had to work hard to get anywhere. Not like today.

  • Yes, so charming and beautiful!

  • Wow! I was never really a big fan of Jo Ann's ragtime stuff, but there's no denying her talent here! I'll bet Myron Floren was watching his back after this!

  • She was one heck of a great performer and musician. A fantastic pianist and accordionist too! I always looked forward to seeing here.

  • eccezionale

  • WOW!!

Jo Ann Castle is my hero!!

  • What a charming gem of TV and music history!Grew up watching this show!Great memories!5*

  • This is an incredible video clip, and it's historic -- I've been a fan of hers forever (when she'd tickle the ivories, I'd always imagine that it was me she was tickling) The video plays back a bit dark on my screen, is there a better copy? I met JoAnn once and got her autograph.

  • This is the only copy I have. I bought it on EBAY some years back. I`m looking into getting some video equipment than can lighten the dark color on the old B&W shows.

  • Thanks for the quick reply. I used to have a problem of dark videos that I'd put onto youtube, but there's some great video editing programs where you can adjust lightness/contrast/clarity/color and put up great work. MAGIX is a good brand of editor for your computer.

  • Fantastic video!!! Excellent 5/5

    Gaby.

  • She should of been playing the accordion much more often. she is amazing..awseome technique.

i would of loved to hear her play a polka or a waltz

  • If you go to Jo Ann's homepage, you will see an icon for her album "Accordion Hi Fi," which was made before she joined the Welk orchestra (a little more in the night-club style). Every song on the album save one can be downloaded. There is some exceptionally fine playing there.

  • I'm amazed Lawrence didn't drop the cake in all the excitement. "Myron are you strapping the accordion on her?" "Well I'm trying." "Myron, let's not overdo it." HAHAHA. Jo Ann was a great accordionist. Most every song from her first record, which was an accordion record, is on her site and may be downloaded. At the time of that LP, she was a bit more in the night-club mold than she ended up being on the Welk show.
