So why we haven´t a pig or chicken circus making million dollars a day?Just Dolphins and Whales circus. By the way pigs and cows haven´t been extinct yet. We have to stop it. Help to save those animals before they get extinct.
are shamu keiko and kandu related does anyone know? This music with this video is the most awesome i have seen to date on utube. the better it gets the better it gets. whoever made this is amazing. tell them from me please. I just adopted a penguin at seaworld and would love to meet shamu.
keiko and kandu7 were both captured in iceland but it unlikely that the are related ..
as for shamu, she was captured near puget sound.
i noticed that none of the orcas in the first bit were actually shamu. after the first shamu died seaworld took her name and used it as a stage name. so all the seaworld orcas have different names but perform under the name shamu. xD
i agree that orcas shouldnt be in captivity but if they werent i never would have seen my favourite animal. i saw the orcas at sea world orlando and marineland ontario
this is a really good vid but im sorry to say that orcas should NOT be in captivity. They're much to big for the tanks they get and their life styles change and all that. they are great to see and learn about when they're in captivity but that's not where they belong!
seriously people get over it, these whales are amazing and without rescue programs, like seaworld, they would not live as long as they do. now im not an expert and im not saying "for a fact i know they are happy" but come on they are huge whales if they werent happy they could easily prove it by killing every single one of their trainers.
pobres animales viven hasta 80 años en libertad y solo 15 en cautiverio...y los acuarios los remplazan constantemente atrapandolos de la naturaleza..son unos asesinos
I think relesing is as bad as keeping in the tank. The trick is to give them something extra to keep them sharp and a little wild. Alive seal of some live fish. Even some squid. Even better some social time
did somebody asked this guys if they wanted to live forever in the same place, eating the same food, looking at the same people? i don't think so. Release them if you really like them.
Keiko is my hero! i 1st saw him when i was 4. i even have the same 3 marks on my left wrist that he had on his throat. they shouldnt let him go cause being in captivity messed up his survival skills.
I see everyone talking about keiko, because he was in a movie. ATLEAST he had the chance to die in the wild a free animal, Poor Kandu bleed to death in an aquarium performing as trianed, after its jaw was broken, Did the people of seaworld comfort this animal as it bleed to death. NO they mopped the blood up from the edges of the pool, to help control its image. RIP KANDU
i dont think orcas should go back 2 the wild i know out in the wild is their home but its good 2 keep them in a tank for awhile and train them 2 do good stuff cuz if they r out in the wild stupid fishermen is killing them and u see them get wash up on shore and getting into fights with sharks and sealion. But i know
And even though shamu died in 1971 some sea worlds name a new orca baby shamu... as if they are passing the name down!
and keiko was NOT born in captivity! i think he got lonely even though he caught neumonia i think because he was so used to living with being fed he couldnt catch food for himself... still its no ones fault!
keiko was not breed in captivity he was capatured in iceland, age of 2
alot of scientist/professtional whale handlers tried 2 prevernt his release coz they said he owuldnt surive after being too use to human contact also it was well know he had a weak immunse system n that he had a high risk of dying in the wild but coz ppl refused to listen when discussing about keeping him in captivity he died the ppl that loved him so much killed him its sad to know they had the right intenstion at heart
Orcas or dolphins are not forced to perform if you watch them in the wild most of the tricks you see are natural hunting techniques
i have been fortunate to see killer whales in the wild i have seen them do most of the tricks that they perform some killer whales are caught because they are sick so they catch them and treat them but some times they are to dependent of the dsily feeds and humans that they can not be released back in to the wild due to this they use them in shows.
I fully agree with Flargmuffin92... when Orcas have been captive for so long there is no hope in releasing them. the only hope that you can have for them is that they spend their remaining years as comfortable as they can be. Looking at Keiko... he was released back into the wild but spent his last years looking to people as his companions not other killer whales... when you keep an animal, no matter the species, in captivity you can't expect it's reintroduction to the wild to be an easy one.
doooooooood Say what you want about captivity..but Im pro..orcas arent forced to perform..no one can force an 8000 pound animal to perform, they are fed everyday regardless of performance. Yes i know ppl have their own opinons on it.. But captivity isnt bad. even though im against capturing orcas from the wild from here on out. keep the ones that are already there. Keiko liked captivity. had he not have been released. he would probably still be alive..
kaiko died when they let him go because he didn't know how to live in the wild and as much as i love orcas and like to see them preform i feel bad b/c they are forced to preform and i think they desirve to live free or at the very least get way bigger pools
Keiko did die by not because he couldn't survive in the wild. He caught pneumonia (and that could've happened to any whale) The fact the he was bred in captivity was the underlining reason he didn't survive. His immune system wasn't nearly as strong as it could've been.
^My dads friend worked at Sea World Orlando...He's knows all about it.
Keiko acted for the first movie but some parts were robot, like when Keiko jumped over the cliff. And the 3rd one, they used Finna and Bjossa, vancouver aquarium orcas
Kandu was HHHHHHHHHUUUUUUUUUUGGGEEEE u wouldn't believe hissize in real life i hav touched him when i was young befoe i didn't go to mariland Keiko pictures was awsome to and lot's i hav nver seen b4
They really dont belong in tanks ...what a shame. R.I.P Keko what an awful life you had.
