Look up electric powered bicycles.

Use any 26" bicycle w/ motor/battery apparatus.

There are kits out there that allow this.

Also, for those who have trouble with mobility, remember, there are tri-cycles as well.

Leave the automobile for long distance.

And pick-up trucks for hauling.

IMHO, these would have to share the road with bicyclists.
